This study tests the hypothesis that ultrasound-guided PCI reduces contrast volume during the procedure.

The purpose of this study is to determine the quantity of iron derived from SFP that is transferred from the dialysate to patients during a single dialysis session. The effects of various conditions which may affect the transfer of iron such as blood and dialysate flow rate, changes in bicarbonate delivery, dialyzer membrane type and the effect of reuse will also be investigated. The absorption and removal of iron from the blood will also be investigated.

Phase 1 - Pharmacokinetics in Patients with Impaired Renal Function

To evaluate in patients with chronic kidney disease the impact of two dosages of per os vitamin D3 supplementation (cholecalciferol) on large arterial stiffness (evaluated non invasively by pulse wave velocity and high-resolution echotracking system). We will also study arterial calcification (lateral abdominal radiography and echocardiogram), arterial remodeling (high-resolution echotracking system), endothelial function (evaluated by a non-invasive finger biosensor device), and bone remodeling (evaluated by serum biomarkers and bone mineral density).
