Intravenous Zoledronic Acid for the Treatment of Osteoporosis and Osteonecrosis in Children With...
OsteoporosisOsteonecrosis1 moreThis study explores the effect of zoledronic acid on incident vertebral fractures and osteonecrotic lesions in children recently diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Clinical Trial of Use of Autologous Bone Marrow Stem Cells Seeded on Porous Tricalcium Phosphate...
Osteonecrosis of JawThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety of use of autologous bone marrow stem cells seeded on porous tricalcium phosphate matrix and demineralized bone matrix in patients with osteonecrosis of the jaw by a prospective, single-center, open, nonrandomized and unblinded clinical trial.
Plasma Rich in Growth Factors for Treatment of Medication Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw
Osteonecrosis Due to DrugsJawMedication related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw (MRONJ) consists of progressive destruction of bone in the maxillofacial area. It is an established complication which occurs in patients who take two main classes of antiresorptive drugs: Bisphosphonates (BP) and Denosumab. PRGF is a autologous platelet-enriched plasma obtained from the patient's own blood. It contains proteins that can influence and promote cell recruitment and its beneficial effect could consist in improving bone and soft tissue healing. These benefits are likely to apply to MRONJ surgery, as it is suggested by small retrospective or prospective case series. This is a randomized, multi center study comparing the outcomes of surgery alone and PRGF plus surgery in patients requiring surgical treatment for MRONJ. To assess the superiority of surgery plus PRGF compared to surgery alone in patients treated for MRONJ. Primary endpoint for this scope is a composite of clinical or radiological recurrence rate of disease during a 12 months post-operative period. Secondary endpoints are: a) morbidity, defined as nerve injury, bleeding, vascular or wound complications. b) post- and peri-operative pain defined by the treated subjects according to a standardized VAS score c) quality of life (QoL) defined by a standardized scale.
Mesenchymal Stem Cell for Osteonecrosis of the Femoral Head
Osteochondritis of the Femoral HeadMesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) have been shown to have immunosuppressive and repairing properties. Bone marrow mononuclear cells (BMMNCs) have revascularization properties and complimentary effects to MSCs. The investigators will infuse expanded autologous MSCs and BMMNCs into patients with osteonecrosis of the femoral head. The study purpose is to examine whether this treatment will result in improvement in osteonecrosis of the femoral head.
Aspirin in the Prevention of Collapse in Osteonecrosis of the Hip
Osteonecrosis of Femoral HeadOsteonecrosis; Aseptic1 moreThe purpose of this study is to determine if prolonged administration of low-dose aspirin will prevent the progression of early-stage osteonecrosis of the femoral head and may even reduce the extent of involvement of the femoral head by the necrotic process The design is intended to be parallel group where a total of 114 patients will be randomized in a 1:1 ratio to the treatment (ASA) and the control (Placebo) arms.
Autologous Bone Marrow Derived Mesenchymal Stromal Cells Transplantation(BM-MSC) for Kienbock's...
Kienböck's DiseaseKienböck's disease is characterized by avascular necrosis of the lunate wrist bone, which is usually progressive without treatment. Cell therapy is useful in treatment of degenerated bone and mesenchymal stromal/stem cells are the best candidates for this kind of treatment. This study examined lunate core decompression in combination with implantation of autologous bone marrow derived mesenchymal stromal cells for Its treatment potential. Bone decompression in combination with implantation of autologous bone marrow derived mesenchymal stromal/stem cell will be done in 30 patients with Kienböck disease. The patients will be followed at 2weeks, 3months, 6m and 12 months after implantation. The Spss(v16) software will be used for data analysis.
Genetics in Predicting Risk of Bisphosphonate-Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw in Patients With...
Malignant NeoplasmMusculoskeletal ComplicationsThis randomized clinical trial studies genetics in predicting risk of bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw in patients with cancer receiving zoledronic acid. Zoledronic acid is an anti-resorptive drug used as part of cancer treatment. A serious side effect of these drugs is death of the jawbone, commonly called bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (BRONJ). Genetic research may help doctors understand risk factors for BRONJ or who is more likely to get BRONJ and why.
Hyper Baric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) for Spontaneous Osteonecrosis of the Knee
Spontaneous Osteonecrosis of the Kneesafety and efficacy of Hyper Baric Oxygen (HBO) in patients presenting with spontaneous osteonecrosis of the knee
Post Market Clinical Follow-Up of the Zimmer Stafit Acetabular System
OsteoarthritisHip7 moreThis study is a Post Market Clinical Follow up study to fulfil the post market surveillance obligations according to Medical Device Directive and European Medical Device Vigilance System (MEDDEV) 2.12-2. The data collected from this study will serve the purpose of confirming safety and performance of the Zimmer Stafit Acetabular System.
MBCP Safety and Performance in the Osteonecrosis of Femur Head
OsteonecrosisThe aim of this pilot study is to evaluate MBCP performance in bone regeneration after osteonecrosis biopsy of the femur head. This technic may prevent the neck of the femur bone weakness following the healthy area drilling, thanks to a bone reconstruction at the expense of the biomaterial.
