Effect of Virtual Reality for Pain Management During Intracervical Balloon Placement for Artificial...

Delivery ProblemLabor Pain

The labor induction concerns 22% of births in France. In the event of labor induction, in almost two thirds of cases, a cervical ripening method is used and the use of mechanical methods is observed for 8% of cervical ripening. Intra-cervical balloon placement is generally well tolerated but is frequently associated with pain and acute anxiety. There are few options for pain relief. Virtual reality, a relatively new intervention, has been studied as a distraction technique for pain relief, but never in the context of the induction of childbirth.

The Effect of Massage and Musıc Therapy on Birth Pain, Posttravmatic Comfort and Posttraumatic Development...

Labor PainPosttraumatic Growth

Birth pain is the most severe painful experience faced by primiparous people. Massage and music therapy reduce tension in the muscles and reduce the feeling of pain. Massage and music therapy will be applied to pregnant women. No intervention will be made to a group of pregnant women. Numerical Pain Assessment, Post Traumatic Development Scale and Birth Comfort Scale will be used in the research.

Epidural Analgesia Versus IV Meperidine for Labor Pain Control

Labor Pain

60 female that care for pain control during second stage of delivery, will choose between epidural or systemic analgesia. Continuous ECG (3 lead)monitoring will be recorded during the second stage for 10 minutes. 30 minutes after administration of either pain relief, a second recording of maternal ECG will take place for 10 minutes.

MASSAGE AND HOT APPLICATION ON LABOR

Labor Pain

Aim: This study aimed to examine the effects of sacral massage and hot application on labor pain and comfort level perceptions in pregnant women. Methods: This randomized controlled experimental study included hot application, massage and control groups, each having 30 primiparous pregnant women whose cervix was dilated to 4-5 cm. The intervention groups were given a sacral massage or sacral hot application, whereas the control group was given only standard midwifery care during 4-5, 6-7, and 8-9 cm cervical dilation. The data were collected using the Introductory Information Form, the Childbirth Comfort Questionnaire (CCQ), and the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS).

Effects of Different Birthing Balls Used at the First Stage of Childbirth

Labor PainSatisfaction2 more

The study aimed to determine the effects of different birthing balls used at the first stage of childbirth on birth outcomes and maternal satisfaction. Randomized controlled, single-blind clinical study included a total of 180 pregnant women. The study included 3 groups (A: routine hospital care, B: spherical birthing ball, C: peanut ball). Especially spherical birthing ball, were effective in reducing labor pain and facilitating faster rate of descent of the fetal head, and they increased maternal satisfaction.

The Effect of Labor Dance on Labor Pain, Anxiety, Birth Time and Maternal Satisfaction

Pregnant Women

Pregnant women who are in the process of labor need physical and emotional support of health professionals in issues such as coping with labor pain, relieving fear and anxiety, and experiencing positive birth. The fact that labor dance includes components such as upright posture, pelvic movement, touch, massage provides both physical and emotional support to the pregnant woman. The aim of the study is to examine the effect of labor dance applied to pregnant women in the first stage of birth on labor pain, anxiety, birth time and maternal satisfaction at birth.

TAP Block vs LAWI for Analgesia Post-cesarean Section: RCT

Obstetric PainObstetric Anesthesia Problems

Adequate pain control after cesarean delivery is a significant concern both for parturients and obstetric anesthesiologists. Transversus Abdominis Plane (TAP) block and local Wound infiltration with anesthetics are alternatives for reducing the severity of pain, total analgesic consumption, and opioid side effects. Both the TAP block and wound infiltration are superior to placebo; however, it is unknown which provides better analgesia after cesarean delivery because of a scarcity of randomized clinical trials. So, we hypothesized that the TAP block would decrease postoperative pain and postoperative cumulative opioid consumption at 24 hours

Endorphin at Labor Pain and Acupressure

Labor Pain

This study was performed to determine the impact of different acupressure procedures, performed on women's hands during labor, on endorphin levels and labor pain perception. The sample consisted of 140 pregnant women. The study was conducted with three experimental groups and one control group, each including 35 pregnant women. Conventional acupressure and warm and cold acupressure procedures were performed on the Large Intestinal 4 energy meridian zone acupressure point of the experimental group. No procedures were performed on the women in the control group. Data were collected using a "Personal Information Form", "Labor Intervention Follow-up Form", "Visual Analog Scale" and "Verbal Category Scale". The comparison between the experimental and control groups indicated that the conventional acupressure procedure was effective in reducing labor pain and that the warm acupressure procedure increased endorphin levels.
