Venturi and Peristaltic Based Phacoemulsification in Femtosecond Laser Cataract Surgery

Cataract Senile

This study will compare two methods of vacuum (peristaltic or venturi) commonly used during the removal of a femtosecond treated cataract. The investigators will observe which method uses less energy, is gentler on the eye, reduces corneal swelling and if the vision recovers faster with one method compared to the other.

A Randomized Controlled Study of Phacoemulsification by the Enlarged Internal Incision and the Regular...

Cataract

Objective and Principle: To evaluate whether enlarging the incision can reduce corneal complications associated with phacoemulsification with regular 2.2 mm incision. The aim of this study: To evaluate whether the technique of enlarging internal incision could reduce the incidence of descemet membrane detachment after 2.2 mm incision phacoemulsification. Secondary outcome: To evaluate whether the technique of enlarged internal incision can reduce other corneal complications such as corneal edema and astigmatism after 2.2 mm incision phacoemulsification. Study Design: A prospective randomized controlled study

Visual Function in Pediatric Patients With Posterior Lens Opacities

Congenital Cataract Polar Posterior

Prognostic factors determining visual outcomes in patients with posterior polar cataracts and posterior lenticonus are largely unknown. In this trial, the investigators aimed to evaluate the visual outcomes in patients with posterior polar cataracts and posterior lenticonus and try to find out the factors associated with the visual acuity after surgery. Patients enrolled in this study will be followed for at least 6 months and will have study visits at 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 3 month, 6 month postoperatively.
