Results of Patients With Glaucoma Undergoing Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery in Conjunction...
GlaucomaOpen-Angle1 moreThis study is designed to determine how well patients with glaucoma can see following cataract surgery with a special type of lens called an extended-depth-of-focus (EDOF) lens. This lens is intended to reduced the patients need for glasses following cataract surgery. Patients will also undergo a minimally invasive type of glaucoma surgery using a special type of stent to reduce eye pressure, with the goal of better glaucoma control and the reduction in the need for medications to control eye pressure.
Accuracy of Topography Guided Automatic Marking of the Intraocular Lens (IOL) -Axis
Cataract SenileAstigmatismIn cataract surgery, the opaque lens is replaced by an artificial intraocular lens. The procedure also allows for correction of an refractive error such as myopia, hyperopia or astigmatism. In case of correction of an astigmatism, the axis intraocular lens has to be alligned to the axis of the corneal astigmatism. There are serveral options, the intendet position of the axis can be marked on the cornea, either manually using ink and a special caliper or with an automatic laser device. The aim of this study is to assess the accuracy of topography guided automatic marking of the intended IOL-axis in toric IOL-implantation in femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery (FLACS)
EDOF and Multifocal IOL Study
Age-related CataractThe investigational devices are approved intraocular lenses (IOLs) intended to be implanted after phacoemulsification in individuals suffering from age-related cataract with the need of cataract surgery. Cataract surgery with precedent bilateral randomized IOL implantation will be performed in subjects who have signed an informed consent form. Postoperative examinations will be implemented in accordance with the approved investigational plan.
Comparison of Two Surgical Sequences "Cataract Surgery Then Vitrectomy" Versus "Vitrectomy Then...
CataractVitreous DisorderCataracts and vitreo-retinal conditions are frequently associated and can lead to a combined surgery to treat both diseases at the same time. To date, in most cases cataract surgery is usually performed first, then followed by vitrectomy. However, there isn't any standard guidelines indicating what would be the best chronological order, or sequence, when performing those procedures. This randomised, double-arm, open-label study aims at investigating whether the sequence "cataract surgery then vitrectomy" or "vitrectomy then cataract surgery" can have an impact on iris hernia occurence.
Travoprost Intraocular Implant in Conjunction With Cataract Surgery
Open Angle GlaucomaOcular HypertensionSubjects with cataract requiring extraction and who have open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension will undergo screening and washout from IOP-lowering medication, if applicable. Eligible subjects who meet all inclusion criteria and none of the exclusion criteria and who undergo successful cataract extraction with implantation of a posterior chamber intraocular lens (PC-IOL) will receive a travoprost intraocular implant and followed up for 12 months.
Comparison of Minimal Invasive Lens Surgery and Traditional Cataract Surgery
Congenital CataractPreviously, we have developed a minimal invasive lens surgery in the purpose of reduce post-operative complications of congenital cataract. This prospective, randomized controlled study aims at comparing the prognosis of the minimal invasive lens surgery and the traditional cataract surgery for treating congenital cataracts.
Efficacy of Low-Level Light Therapy in Reducing Dry Eye in Patients Undergoing Cataract Surgery...
Dry EyeThe goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate the effectiveness of Low Level Light Therapy (LLLT) in reducing the incidence or alleviating the severity of DED due to meibomian gland dysfunction in otherwise healthy patients undergoing cataract surgery. Participants will be randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to either a treatment group or a control group. The treatment group will receive LLLT one week before and one week after cataract surgery; the control group will not recieve LLLT at any time. Researchers will compare the treatment and the control group to see if patients receiving LLLT present with reduced signs and symptoms of ocular surface dysfunction with respect to the control group.
Cataract Surgery in Patients With Pseudoexfoliation and Pseudoexfoliation Glaucoma
PseudoexfoliationPseudoexfoliation Syndrome2 moreThe study aims to document the effect cataract surgery has on the pseudoexfoliation and pseudoexfoliation glaucoma eye. Details such has patient history, history of possible glaucoma, intraocular pressure, status of the eye, operation parameters and postoperative effect will be documented. The study is prospective and randomised . Patients will be divided in to two groups: in one standard phacoemulsification cataract surgery will be preformed. In the second group the anterior chamber angel will be aspirated an extra minute at the end of the case with the IA probe. The aim is to determine weather this extra aspiration will have an effect on postoperative intraocular pressure and other parameters.
NPI-002 Intravitreal Implant for the Delay of Cataract Progression
CataractThis study will examine the safety and efficacy NPI-002 intravitreal implants post vitrectomy.
Providing Financial Incentives to Improve Adherence to Referral Eye Care Visits
GlaucomaDiabetic Retinopathy4 moreGlaucoma is a blinding eye disease increasingly common in older adults, particularly in African Americans, and often diagnosed late in the disease course. It is essential to develop novel health care models, utilizing telemedicine, to improve the ability to detect glaucoma at an earlier stage, and to provide a platform to manage this disease in community-based clinics so that further vision loss is prevented. Our goal is to improve the quality and accessibility of glaucoma detection and management among a vulnerable and at-risk segment of our population.
