Sorafenib tosylate may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.

This study will compare the effectiveness of two new types of bone marrow transplants in people with leukemia or lymphoma: one that uses bone marrow donated from family members with only partially matched bone marrow; and, one that uses two partially matched cord blood units.

Trebananib may stop the growth of AML by blocking blood flow to the cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cytarabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving trebananib together with cytarabine may be an effective treatment for patients with AML.

However, these patients may eventually relapse in some cases. Our previous study found that stratification of treatment based on cytogenetics and therapeutic response could benefit low and intermediate AML. To further verify the results, we conducted a prospective multi-center study. The purpose of this study is to establish risk stratification based on cytogenetics and minimal-residual-disease (MRD) analysis to determine whether a MRD-directed therapy for low and intermediate AML patients has positive results in terms of overall survival.
