Precursor Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia-LymphomaSurveys and QuestionnairesThe aim of the study is to evaluate the family perspective on follow-up programs after treatment for childhood acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. It is relevant when new follow-up programs are to be designed.
Acupuncture Point Stimulation for Treatment of Chemotherapy Nausea and Vomiting
Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic LeukemiaChildhood Acute Myeloid Leukemia/Other Myeloid Malignancies3 moreThis randomized pilot clinical trial studies giving acupuncture in reducing nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing chemotherapy. Pressing and stimulating nerves at an acupuncture point on the inside of the wrist may help control nausea and vomiting during chemotherapy.
Studying Body Mass Index in Younger Patients Who Are Receiving Treatment for High-Risk Acute Lymphoblastic...
Acute Lymphoblastic LeukemiaUntreated Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic LeukemiaThis clinical trial is studying body mass index in younger patients receiving prednisone/prednisolone, vincristine, daunorubicin, and pegaspargase for high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Studying samples of blood from patients with cancer in the laboratory may help doctors learn more about the affect of body mass index on the way anticancer drugs work in the body. It may also help doctors predict how patients will respond to treatment
Collect and Assess Tissue Samples From Subjects With Hematologic Malignancy
Acute Myelogenous LeukemiaMultiple Myeloma5 moreThis is a prospective, multicenter observational study to collect clinically annotated biospecimens in order to assess the correlation between ex vivo data generated by the Notable assay platform and clinical outcome.
Use of Saline-Washed Platelet and Red Cell Transfusions in Adult Acute Leukemia
LeukemiaMyeloid4 moreThe purpose of this study is to determine whether a novel standard of care protocol, washing red cell and platelet transfusions for younger patients with acute leukemia, has yielded improved clinical outcomes at Strong Memorial Hospital (Rochester, New York, USA). This standard of care was implemented based upon an earlier randomized trial (BMC Blood Disorders. 2004 Dec 10;4(1):6) The comparator will be historical controls from the medical literature.
Studying Genes in Samples From Younger Patients With Relapsed Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
B-cell Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic LeukemiaRecurrent Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia1 moreThis laboratory study is looking into genes in samples from younger patients with relapsed acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Studying samples of tissue from patients with cancer in the laboratory may help doctors learn more about changes that occur in DNA and identify biomarkers related to cancer. It may also help doctors find better ways to treat cancer.
Pharmacogenetically Based Dosing of Thiopurines in Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
Acute Lymphoblastic LeukemiaIn a population-based study to explore the impact of TPMT-status on the risk of relapse and of second cancer among all patients treated according to the NOPHO ALL2000.

Acute Lymphoblastic LeukemiaThe purpose of this study is to compare the pharmacokinetics of a routinely used compounded liquid formulation of 6-mercaptopurine (6-MP) with commercially available tablets in patients who are receiving treatment with 6-MP as part of their clinical treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
Endothelial Function, Arterial Stiffness and Components
Acute Lymphoblastic LeukemiaSpecific Aim: Compare the endothelial function, arterial stiffness and components of metabolic syndrome of childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) survivors to healthy sibling controls. Plan: A cross sectional study comparing ALL survivors to sibling controls including measures of endothelial function and arterial stiffness obtained form a peripheral artery tonometry device, height, weight, waist circumference, fasting lipid, glucose and insulin.
