A Study of Children With Refractory or Relapsed ALL
Acute Lymphoblastic LeukemiaThe main purpose of this study is to find out which form of asparaginase (the native E. coli/Erwinia) or PEG-asparaginase) is more effective during induction treatment for children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia that has come back after treatment (relapsed) or is resistant to treatment (refractory)
Treatment for Patients With Stage III or IV Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma
Lymphoblastic LymphomaThe main purpose of this study is to determine if it is feasible to administer an intensified, multi-agent chemotherapy regimen for children with stage III and IV non-Hodgkin lymphoma and to find out what the toxicities are.
Alemtuzumab and Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Untreated Acute Lymphoblastic...
Acute Undifferentiated LeukemiaB-cell Adult Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia12 moreThis phase I/II trial studies the side effects and best dose of alemtuzumab when given together with combination chemotherapy and to see how well it works in treating patients with untreated acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Monoclonal antibodies, such as alemtuzumab, can block cancer growth in different ways. Some block the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread. Others find cancer cells and help kill them or carry cancer-killing substances to them. Drugs used in chemotherapy also work in different ways to kill cancer cells or stop them from growing. Giving alemtuzumab together with combination chemotherapy may be a better way to block cancer growth.
CINJALL: Treatment for Children With Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia
Acute Lymphocytic LeukemiaThe purpose of this research study is to identify better ways to treat children and young adults with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL). At the same time, doctors hope to define methods to identify those patients at higher risk for certain side effects, as well as those who are at higher risk for relapse of their leukemia.
Sorafenib in Treating Patients With Refractory or Relapsed Acute Leukemia, Myelodysplastic Syndromes,...
Adult Acute Basophilic LeukemiaAdult Acute Eosinophilic Leukemia22 moreThis randomized phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of two different schedules of sorafenib in treating patients with refractory or relapsed acute leukemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, or blastic phase chronic myelogenous leukemia. Sorafenib may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth and by blocking blood flow to the cancer.
Trial for Treatment of Adult Patients With Standard Risk Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia With Chemotherapy...
Adult Acute Lymphocytic LeukemiaThe study evaluates the efficacy and tolerability of an intensified induction and consolidation therapy in combination with rituximab in CD20 positive standard risk patients. Thereafter patients receive additional consolidation and reinduction cycles combined with rituximab. In parallel minimal residual disease is evaluated. After six months and one year the decision on intensification or discontinuation of therapy is made based on results of MRD evaluation
German Multicenter Trial for the Treatment of Newly Diagnosed T-lymphoblastic Lymphoma in Adults...
LymphomaLymphoblasticThis study evaluates the efficacy and tolerability of treatment for T-lymphoblastic lymphoma (T-LBL) according to a protocol for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Patients receive one year of intensive cyclical chemotherapy with additional prophylaxis for central nervous system (CNS) relapse by intrathecal therapy and cranial irradiation and mediastinal irradiation after induction chemotherapy.
Treatment of Hyperuricemia With Rasburicase in Patients With Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia or High...
Adult Acute Lymphocytic LeukemiaHigh-grade LymphomaIn this study the efficacy and tolerability of two approaches to treat and prevent hyperuricemia is tested in patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia or high-grade lymphoma with high risk of tumor lysis syndrome. Both arms are compared by randomisation. In one arm patients receive during pre-phase chemotherapy conventional prophylaxis with allopurinol whereas in the other arm Rasburicase is used.
Chemotherapy, Imatinib Mesylate, and Peripheral Stem Cell Transplantation in Treating Patients With...
Adult Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in RemissionThis phase II trial studies how well giving imatinib mesylate together with chemotherapy and peripheral stem cell transplantation works in treating patients with newly diagnosed acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Imatinib mesylate may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for cancer cell growth. Giving imatinib mesylate together with chemotherapy and peripheral stem cell transplantation may be an effective treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Study of the Physical and Emotional Needs of Parents Caring for Children Receiving Chemotherapy...
LeukemiaRATIONALE: Studying the physical and emotional needs of parents who are caring for children receiving chemotherapy for cancer may help doctors plan effective treatments for the patient that allow for improved quality of life of the patient's family. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying the different physical and emotional needs of parents whose children are undergoing chemotherapy for acute lymphoblastic leukemia either in an outpatient clinic or in the hospital.
