Immunological Repertoire in Patients With Lymphoma and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia

LYMPHOMA

RIPAL is a prospective cohort study, which main goal is to define T and B immune repertoire diversity and magnitude in patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma of high and low grade and chronic lymphocytic leukemia before and after treatment, and to evaluate the association of these parameters with clinical patient data and outcomes.

T-cell Minimal Residual Disease (MRD) Evaluation Using Flow Cytometric Analysis

LeukemiaLymphocytic1 more

To determine if MRD (minimal residual disease) can be found in the blood (only) as opposed to bone marrow in children with ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukemia).

Biomarker To Evaluate Protein Profiles of Neutropenic Fever/Infection With Acute or Chronic Leukemias...

LeukemiaLymphocytic2 more

The purpose of this study is to measure, in pilot/observational study, panels of circulating proteins in real time at the onset of neutropenic fever/infection in patients with acute or chronic leukemias undergoing chemotherapy or other biologic treatment. And to generate preliminary trend results in panels of circulating proteins longitudinally during the period of neutropenia and to correlate those values to clinical/laboratory data and patient outcomes.

Lipoprotein Lipase Expression in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia

Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia

The investigators hypothesize that Lipoprotein Lipase (LPL) expression on Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) cells will predict a more aggressive clinical course. The results from this proposal will validate the use of a novel antibody developed at Dartmouth-Hitchcock in CLL and will predict CLL patients that have a more aggressive form of the disease. The investigators work will also provide direct evidence that LPL is expressed on CLL cells and provides a critical source of fatty acids required by the CLL cells to grow and survive. Fatty acid metabolism may become a therapeutic target in CLL in the future.

DNA Analysis of Tumor Tissue Samples From Young Patients With Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in RemissionRecurrent Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

This laboratory study is looking at DNA in tumor tissue samples from young patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. DNA analysis of tumor tissue may help doctors predict how well patients will respond to treatment

Studying Genes in Samples From Younger Patients With Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Leukemia

RATIONALE: Studying samples of blood and bone marrow from patients with cancer in the laboratory may help doctors learn more about changes that occur in DNA and identify biomarkers related to cancer. It may also help doctors find better ways to treat cancer. PURPOSE: This laboratory study is looking into genes in samples from younger patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).

Identifying Characteristics of Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes

Bone Marrow Failure SyndromesAnemia10 more

Bone marrow failure syndromes (BMFS) are rare disorders characterized by dysfunctional hematopoietic stem cells, which give rise to all red and white blood cells. The deficiency of blood cells, or cytopenia, caused by this malfunction leads to an assortment of diseases and disorders, all of which are characterized as BMFS. Because these diseases are rare, conducting research on them is difficult, and standards of treatment for most BMFS have yet to be developed. This study will collect clinical and laboratory data from people with BMFS to identify the characteristics and biological markers associated with these diseases over time. This information will assist doctors and researchers to develop better therapies and diagnostic tests that will help improve the management of BMFS and cytopenias.
