Prospective Trial Comparing Conventional Versus Piggyback Method in Venous Drainage of the Transplanted...
End-stage Liver DiseaseMETHODS: Patients were submitted to conventional (n=15) or piggyback (n=17) liver transplantation (LTx). Free hepatic vein pressure (FHVP) and the central venous pressure (CVP) measurements were performed after graft reperfusion. Postoperative (PO) serum creatinine (Cr) was measured, acute renal failure (ARF) was defined as Cr > or = 2,0mg/dL and PO renal function was analyzed by modificated RIFLE-AKIN. PO overall Cr was calculated by area under the curve (AUC) of Cr vs. time. on the first week.
DAA Treatment in Donor HCV-positive to Recipient HCV-negative Liver Transplant
End Stage Liver DiseaseHepatitis CThis is a single center study for the donation of Hepatitis C Virus (HCV)-positive livers to HCV negative recipient patients, with preemptive, interventional treatment to prevent HCV transmission upon transplantation.
Intravenous Branched Chain Amino Acids for Hepatic Encephalopathy in ACLF
Hepatic EncephalopathyAcute-On-Chronic Liver FailureThis study analyses the effect of intravenous branched chain amino acids (BCAA) on overt HE in patients with ACLF. The investigators plan to study the efficacy of combining intravenous BCAA with lactulose versus lactulose alone in the medical management of overt HE in patients with ACLF and its impact on overall survival and improvement in grade of HE.
Efficacy and Safety of E.Coli Nissle 1917 in Patients With Mild (Stage 1-2) or Minimal Hepatic Encephalopathy...
Hepatic EncephalopathyLiver Cirrhosis1 moreThe purpose of study to assess the short-term efficacy and safety of probiotic E.coli Nissle 1917 strain comparing to lactulose and rifaximin in patients with mild (Stage 1-2) or minimal hepatic encephalopathy
Effects on Plasma Exchange on Functional Capacity of Serum Albumin, Circulatory Dysfunction, Renal...
Liver CirrhosisLiver FailureThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects on plasma exchange with 5% albumin on albumin functional capacity, cardiocirculatory, renal and cerebral function in cirrhotic patients with "acute-on-chronic liver failure".
Improvement of Liver Function in Liver Cirrhosis Patients After Autologous Mesenchymal Stem Cell...
Liver FailureCirrhosisThe methods for separation of mesenchymal stem cell were established in 2001. These cells can differentiate to osteocytes, hepatocytes, chondrocytes, myocytes and etc,. In this study the investigators try to separate mesenchymal stem cell from end stage liver disease, then these cells will be differentiated to progenitor of hepatocytes, finally , the investigators injected these cells into portal vein under ultrasound guide. The investigators determine the effects of injected cells in reestablishment of liver function.
Study of Liver Transplant For End-Stage Liver Disease Caused By Chronic Hepatitis C Infection
End Stage Liver DiseaseHepatitis CThe purpose of this study is to compare three treatment regimens in patients who have received a liver transplant for end-stage liver disease caused by Chronic Hepatitis C infection.
HepHospital: A Hepatology Home Hospital Intervention for Patients With Advanced Liver Disease

High Volume Plasma Exchange in Children With Acute Liver Failure and Acute on Chronic Liver Failure...
Acute Liver FailureAll the children with acute liver failure who are candidates for transplant but have constraints for transplant will be randomized either to receive standard medical therapy or high volume plasma exchange along with standard medical therapy with the aim to assess the effect of high volume plasma exchange on transplant free survival.
