Low Back PainThe aim of this study is to determine if assessment of additional measures of trunk neuromuscular control will improve the ability to identify patients with low back pain who successfully respond to trunk stabilization exercises. Question: What clinical characteristics are associated with patients that respond positively to a program of core stabilization exercises? Hypothesis: Clinical characteristics that show a decrease in trunk motor control will be associated with a positive response to stabilization exercises.
WHODAS-II for Patients With Nonspecific Low Back Pain
Low Back PainThe main purpose of this study is to determine the measurement characteristics of WHODAS-II (World Health Organization Disability Assessment Schedule), as well as to analyze its correlation with low back pain (Visual Analog Scale, VAS), disability (Spanish version of the Roland Morris Questionnaire, RMQ), fear avoidance beliefs and attitudes (Spanish version of the FAB Questionnaire, FABQ) and quality of life (SF-12). Measurements will be taken at baseline and 6 days later (day 7).
Association Between a Healthy Lifestyle Behavior and Musculoskeletal Pain
Neck PainLow Back Pain1 moreObjective: The aim of this online cross-sectional survey is to determine the association between a combination of lifestyle factors and the presence of musculoskeletal pain (neck pain, low back pain and/or temporomandibular pain), in the Belgian adult population. Methods: Belgian adults from the general population will be recruited using non-probability sampling (convenience and snowballing). The survey will be available online for a period of 6 months on LimeSurvey software. Multivariable logistic regression analyses will be performed to determine the association between a combination of lifestyle factors (sleep, physical activity, stress, weight, smoking, nutrition) and the presence of musculoskeletal pain. Discussion: The results of the study will provide data about associations between a combination of lifestyle factors and the presence of musculoskeletal pain. This could strengthen current evidence about the importance of adhering to a healthy lifestyle and improve understanding of its association with musculoskeletal pain.

These people constitute a significant part of the disease burden due to their recurrent complaints. People with low back and neck pain often seek medical attention. This situation causes individuals to apply to the hospital frequently and causes a serious cost at the social level. When the risk factors for neck pain are examined, many factors such as genetics, sleep problems, smoking, obesity, sedentary lifestyle, poor posture, previous neck pain, trauma, back pain and poor general health cause neck pain to develop. Similarly, conditions such as age, obesity, and poor general health appear to be risk factors for low back pain. In addition to these risk factors, it has been reported that occupational factors such as long and sedentary working hours and unsuitable workplace conditions may also cause low back and neck pain. Fixed posture and prolonged sitting are thought to be risk factors for low back and neck pain, but opinions on this subject are not clear. The COVID-19 pandemic has created a global crisis since 2019 and caused a change in the lifestyle of all people around the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) stated that social distance should be increased and face-to-face contact should be reduced to prevent the spread of the pandemic. For this reason, many institutions have decided to work remotely and trainings have been carried out remotely. The increasing teleworking style with the COVID-19 pandemic has led to an increase in the average screen time of individuals. It was reported that time spent on the Internet increased by 52% compared to the pre-pandemic period. This study aims to investigate the relationship between increased teleworking hours and internet use during the pandemic period in individuals with low back or neck pain. Researchers think that postural changes that may occur with increased distance working time, increased fixed posture and asymmetrical loading may contribute to the uncertain relationship between low back and neck pain and posture.

Chronic Low-back PainPurpose: To determine the immediate effect of myofascial release application on pain, flexibility and trunk mobility in chronic low back pain (CLBP). Materials and methods: Forty patients with CLBP participated in this experimental study. Participants were grouped in randomized control. Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) was used for pain assessment. Sit-Reach Test for flexibility evaluation and Straight Leg Raising Test with goniometric measurement for hamstring flexibility were used. Modified Schober Test was applied to evaluate trunk mobility. Comparison of the pre- and post-treatment evaluation data of the individuals in the same group was made using the "Wilcoxen Sum Rank Test", one of the non-parametric tests. Comparison of pre- and post-treatment evaluation data of both groups was performed using the non-parametric evaluation "Mann-Whitney U Test".

By randomising patients between application of an active device or a dummy device and assessment of disability and pain scores at four weeks the efficacy or otherwise can be established. Chronic low back pain is a major health problem and if effective this has major economic implications as the device is cheap and safe.
Cooperative Pain Education and Self-management
Chronic Low Back PainThis study will test the effectiveness of using enhanced facilitation strategies on implementation of an automated Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system as a means to remotely deliver in-home self-management support to Veterans with chronic pain. The implementation intervention uses an enhanced facilitation approach paired with automated case finding and direct patient outreach to encourage uptake of Cooperative Pain Education and Self-management (COPES). A nested effectiveness study will measure pre-post differences in pain-relevant outcomes (pain intensity, physical functioning and physical activity). The investigators will use a stepped wedge cluster design in which clusters will be randomized to the timing of the introduction of enhanced COPES implementation. Investigators will assess the efficacy of the facilitation based implementation strategy by evaluating COPES uptake in the implementation settings.
