A Clinical Study of the GO-LIF® Approach for Lumbar Spinal Fixation
Lower Back PainThe purpose of this study is to collect data regarding the safety and feasibility of the GO-LIF procedure for spinal fixation and stabilization, in conjunction with conventional approaches for interbody lumbar fusion. This is in order to allow for evidence-based comparison to pedicle-screw-based techniques as described in the literature.
Efficacy of Classification Based 'Cognitive Functional Therapy' in Patients With Non Specific Chronic...
Chronic Low Back PainA randomized controlled trial of the efficacy of classification based cognitive functional physiotherapy according to the system proposed by Peter O'Sullivan as compared to manual therapy and exercise in patients with non specific chronic low back pain. The investigators hypothesis was that treatment targeted at the mechanism behind the problem from a multidimensional perspective would be superior to traditional treatment.
Yoga vs. Physical Therapy vs. Education for Chronic Low Back Pain in Minority Populations
Back Pain Lower Back ChronicA randomized controlled trial for chronic low back pain in predominantly minority populations with three treatment arms: yoga, physical therapy, and education. Four cohorts of participants will be randomized in a 2:2:1 ratio (yoga:physical therapy:education). Primary outcomes are pain intensity and measure of disability; secondary outcomes are pain medication use, treatment adherence, and health-related quality of life.
A Pharmacodynamic/Pharmacokinetic Study to Determine the Onset of Analgesic Effect and Plasma Levels...
Acute Low Back PainThe primary objective of this study is to determine the time of onset of analgesic effect of Tramadol Contramid® Once-A-Day (OAD) in acute low back pain. Secondary objectives include determining the relationship between analgesic effect and plasma levels for Tramadol Contramid® OAD and to examine safety after single dose administration of 200 mg of Tramadol Contramid® OAD.
Placebo and Active Controlled, Double Dummy Study to Prove Efficacy of Aspirin in Treatment of Acute...
Low Back PainThe purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy and safety of 1000 mg Aspirin (the study medication) by comparing it to placebo (the control group without active substance) or 400 mg Ibuprofen (the control group with an active substance) in treating the symptoms of back pain. The study is designed to develop a treatment method against back pain which will have more advantages for patients than the methods that are currently available.
A Six Week Study Of The Pain Relieving Effects Of Celecoxib 200 Mg Twice Daily Compared To Tramadol...
Low Back PainTo compare the analgesic effectiveness of celecoxib and tramadol in subjects with Chronic Low Back Pain measured by the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS-Pain) at Week 6
Effects of a Mulligan Mobilisation in the Lumbar Flexion Range of Asymptomatic Subjects
Low Back PainMulligan's mobilisation techniques are believed to increase the range of movement (ROM) in patients with low back pain. The primary aim of this study was to investigate the mechanical effects of Mulligan's "SNAG" technique on lumbar flexion ROM. The secondary aim was to measure the intra- and inter-day reliability of lumbar ROM employing the same procedure, and utilising a 3-D motion analysis system for measuring range of motion (ROM).

Lower Back PainThe purpose of this study is to determine if two sustained released formulations of carisoprodol are more effective than placebo.

Low Back PainA Phase I, Multi-Centre, Randomised, Double-blind, Placebo-controlled Study to Investigate the Safety, Tolerability and Pharmacokinetics of AZD1940, Including an Interaction Study, After Administration of Oral Multiple Ascending Doses in Adult Subjects with Chronic Low Back Pain
Elderly Back Pain: Comparing Chiropractic to Medical Care
Subacute Low Back PainChronic Low Back PainThe purpose of this study is to compare the clinical effectiveness of two types of chiropractic spinal manipulation to conservative medical care for patients at least 55 years old with sub-acute or chronic low back pain (LBP).
