Effects of Patient Education Manual in Patient With Chronic Low Back Pain

It was a randomized clinical trial conducted to determine the effects of patient education manual on pain, range of motion and function in patient with chronic low back pain at Salamat hospital Satellite Town Gujranwala in patients with 6-month chronic low back pain who were willing to follow patient education manual. Patients were assessed for pain, disability due to backpain and lumbar ranges, at baseline, 2nd, 4th and 6th week of intervention. The SPSS 20.0 version was used to analyse data. Tests of normality were executed that whether data was normative or non-parametric, based on which outcomes were compared either using independent samples t test or Mann-Whitney test.

It is more prevalent in countries with high-income economies, where 60-80% of the population report back pain at some point in their life. Numerous medication options are available for acute LBP relief such as non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), myorelaxant drugs, opioids, and benzodiazepines. Magnesium is a physiological voltage-dependent blocker of N-methyl-D-aspartate NMDA)-coupled channels that can influence inflammatory pain and neuropathic pain through several different mechanisms. In this study the investigators aimed to investigate the effect of magnesium oral supplementation for acute low back pain.

In adults with chronic low back pain, the investigators will compare the effectiveness of the medial bundle branch block on three lumbar levels (L3-L4, L4-L5 and L5-S1) performed either by radiographic guidance or by ultrasound approach according to a transverse approach. The objective of this study will be to evaluate the benefit of these both procedures on pain, on the practice of daily activities and the incidence of adverse events in order to show whether the two modalities are equivalent.

The value of personalized therapeutic exercised programs in patients suffering LBP has been shown nowadays, improving symptomatology and quality of life. New technologies help patients to engage more in treatment, while time that health education make people "active patients". The aim of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a Home Therapeutic Exercise Program (HTEP) based in an app with McGill's exercised adding 6 face-to-face sessions every 15 days with a physical therapist .

Effects of Retro Walking in Chronic Non-specific Low Back Pain

Chronic low back pain (CLBP) is a clinical entity that can be defined as back pain with duration of more than 12 weeks. Chronic low back pain is associated with restriction in daily physical activities that ultimately leads to disuse atrophy of muscles. Moreover, weak and atrophied muscles around the lumbar spine cause immense immobility and recurring low back pain in these patients. The objective of this study will be to determine the effect of retro walking on pain, physical function and flexibility in chronic non-specific low back pain. This study will be a randomized controlled trial and will be conducted in physiotherapy department in DHQ hospital Nankana Sahib. The study will be completed in time duration of six months after the approval of synopsis and consecutive sampling technique will be used. 40 subjects will be divided in two groups. Group A will follow retro walking and conventional treatment while group B will follow only conventional treatment. Data will be collected by all participants before 1st session after 6th session and at the end of 12th session by using NPRS, MODI, sit and reach test and Modified schobber's test. Data will be analyzed by SPSS-25.
