The investigators aim to determine the optimal number of measurements required for multiple-breath-washout derived lung function parameters in adults with pulmonary disease as well as in healthy controls

A retrospective cohort study of all patients treated for type II (hypercapnic) respiratory failure with either High-Flow Oxygen Therapy or Non-Invasive Ventilation in a general adult hospital.

This study will test how well short questionnaires, with and without a simple breathing test called 'peak flow', can identify people with COPD compared to the gold-standard diagnostic test called spirometry. We will test this in 10,500 people from three low- and middle-income countries, namely Nepal, Peru and Uganda. We will also examine the feasibility of implementing our case-finding intervention at scale.

This non-interventional study aims at assessing stable GOLD C and D COPD patient's perception of daily and weekly symptoms variability and their impact on daily activities. It will also explore the current practice in management of stable GOLD C and D COPD patients.

The COPD Research Registry is a confidential database of individuals diagnosed with COPD or at risk of developing COPD. The Registry was established in 2007 by the COPD Foundation with the purpose of providing a mechanism for researchers to boost enrollment in clinical trials and other research studies. The COPD Foundation is working with National Jewish Health in Denver, Colorado to serve as the Registry's Data Coordinating Center and to ensure strictest confidentiality of participant information.

The objective of the study is to assess patient's perception with stable state COPD on symptom variability and to describe how symptom variability impacts daily quality of life in Chinese COPD patient with moderate, severe or very severe airflow limitation from tier 3 hospitals in China where most of COPD patients are diagnosed and treated.

The purpose of this study is to establish the prevalence of comorbidities in Italian patients with chronic bronchitis with at least 2 exacerbations per year, and to document the appropriateness of instrumental diagnostic tests, such as spirometry of these patients.
