A Study to Assess the Efficacy and Safety of BIIB059 (Litifilimab) in Participants With Active Subacute...

Subacute Cutaneous Lupus ErythematosusChronic Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus

The primary objectives of the study are to evaluate the efficacy of BIIB059 (litifilimab) compared with placebo in reducing skin disease activity measured by the Cutaneous Lupus Activity of Physician's Global Assessment-Revised (CLA-IGA-R) score [Parts A and B (US)] and the Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus Disease Area and Severity Index Activity (CLASI-A) score [Part B (ROW)] in participants with active SCLE and/or CCLE with or without systemic manifestations and refractory and/or intolerant to antimalarials. The secondary objectives of the study are to evaluate the efficacy of BIIB059 in reducing SCLE and/or CCLE disease activity by CLA-IGA-R, CLASI-A; to evaluate additional efficacy parameters of BIIB059 in reducing SCLE and/or CCLE disease activity; safety; tolerability; and immunogenicity of BIIB059 [Parts A and B].

Study of GS-0272 in Participants With Rheumatoid Arthritis or Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

Rheumatoid ArthritisSystemic Lupus Erythematosus

The goals of this clinical study are to learn more about the study drug, GS-0272, and its safety and tolerability following multiple doses in participants with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The primary objectives of this study are to assess the safety and tolerability of multiple ascending subcutaneous (SC) doses of GS-0272 and to characterize the pharmacokinetics of GS-0272 following multiple SC doses of GS-0272, in participants with RA or SLE.

Progressive Resisted Exercise Plus Aerobic Exercise on Osteoporotic Systemic Lupus Erythmatosus...

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is the most common autoimmune disease in women of childbearing age. Promoting physical activity is a major national priority for the general population, including patients with chronic diseases. The aim of this study is to investigate the efficiency of combined effect of progressive resisted exercise with aerobic exercise for bone mineral density, quality of life, muscle strength and physical activity for patients with SLE.

The Influence of Ketogenic Diet on Lupus Nephritis Patients' Immunity

Systemic Lupus ErythematosusKetogenic Dieting

The study investigates the dietary habits in relation to low doses of omega-3 fatty acids in subcutaneous adipose tissue, disease activity and atherosclerosis. The low intake of omega-3 and high intake of carbohydrate among patients with SLE appear to be associated with worse disease activity, adverse serum lipids and plaque presence.Three-month-old mice received an injection of pristane or saline solution and were fed with different experimental diets: sunflower oil diet or extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) diet. After 24 weeks, mice were sacrificed, spleens were collected and kidneys were removed for immunoinflammatory detections. The study have demonstrated that EVOO diet significantly reduced renal damage and decreased cytokine: TNF-α, IL-6, IL-10 and IL-17 production. The ketogenic diet utilizes a high fat, adequate protein, low carbohydrate diet that control type of food and exchange. The aim of the present study that ketogenic diet treated in SLE patients may decrease overactive immunity and associated inflammatory markers.

A Research Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of Cenerimod in Subjects Suffering From Systemic...

Lupus ErythematosusSystemic

The goal of this clinical trial is to see how well cenerimod is in reducing symptoms of Systemic Lupus Erythematous in adult patients with moderate to severe symptoms. The main questions it aims to answer are: How well cenerimod works on top of the treatment already being administered. How safe cenerimod is for adult patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. Researchers will compare one dose of cenerimod and a placebo to see how well cenerimod works when is added to the treatment already being administered. In this research study approximately 210 participants will receive cenerimod and approximately 210 participants will receive placebo for 12 months.

Nature of Anifrolumab Impact on Vaccine-Emergent Immunity in SLE

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE)

This study to examines the impact of anifrolumab on disease activity, immune phenotypes, and development of neutralizing antibodies to quadrivalent influenza vaccine in patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). 10 patients with moderately to severely active SLE will be treated with anifrolumab in addition to standard of care lupus treatments and 10 will receive only standard of care medications. All will receive influenza vaccine.
