Lymph node biopsy followed by axillary reverse mapping may reduce the incidence and severity of arm lymphedema. This randomized phase II trial is studying how well sentinel and/or axillary lymph node biopsy with or without axillary reverse mapping works in reducing incidence and severity of lymphedema in patients with resectable stage 0-II breast cancer

Examination of therapeutical effects of different types of armsleeves in treating lymphatic diseases after breast cancer surgery during maintenance phase thesis: - all types should be equal regarding volume reduction thesis: armsleeves manufactured with microfibre yarn are expected to be better in wearing comfort and better in handling features.

This multicenter placebo-controlled trial focuses on the efficacy and safety of acupuncture on breast-cancer related lymphedema. 200 participants will be recruited, and randomized in two groups: the real acupuncture group and the sham acupuncture group.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects and validate news physiotherapy techniques: robotic rehabilitation, virtual reality, vibration therapy, canoeing and hand cycling in the secondary clinical complications of the breast cancer, through the Biomedical Instrumentation. It will be realized the double-blind longitudinal clinical study. Will participate in the study 100 women post breast cancer surgery, the volunteers will be allocated in the respective modalities treatment; and 20 healthy volunteers, will be only the control group. The volunteers conducted 10 physiotherapy session, and it will be evaluated after, during and before of the treatment, to evaluated myoelectric activity, scapular and hand muscle strength, range of motion, circumference of the upper limbs and quality of life. Bio-electrical impedance analysis and Tissue Dielectric Constant measurements are objective methods in clinical usage to detect lymphedema in early stage. The aim of this study is to reveal comparative relation these two methods on detecting lymphedema in an early stage.The another aim of this study is to determine impedance ratios and lymphedema index (L-dex) by using bio-electrical impedance analysis in patients after breast cancer surgery.

This protocol will utilize the lymphedema indentometer, or durometer (a novel, noninvasive piece of equipment that measures skin elasticity), to better characterize disease progression in patients with lymphedema. Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center patients who undergo treatment of lymphedema will be candidates for this noninvasive test. This device and the data it generates will help understand the incidence of lymphedema at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center compared to national data and the outcomes of surgical treatment of lymphedema.
