A Vaccine Booster (GEO-CM04S1) for the Prevention of COVID-19 in Patients With Chronic Lymphocytic...

Chronic Lymphocytic LeukemiaCOVID-19 Infection

This phase II trial compares the effect of the GEO-CM04S1 vaccine with the current standard of care vaccine in preventing COVID-19 infections in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). The GEO-CM04S1 vaccine uses a modified vaccinia virus (MVA) backbone that may be more effective at boosting COVID-19 immunity in patients with poor immune responses. MVA strongly induces T cell expansion (infection fighting blood cells) even in the background of a suppressed immune system, which is the case in the targeted CLL patient population. Using the GEO-CM04S1 vaccine may be more effective at preventing COVID-19 infection in patients diagnosed with CLL.

Intrathecal Chemoprophylaxis to Prevent Neurotoxicity Associated With Blinatumomab Therapy for Acute...

Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Changing the schedule of intrathecal chemotherapy to be given before and during blinatumomab will maintain the anti-leukemic effects of this drug while at the same time adding the benefit of limiting the neurotoxicity associated with cytokine release.

Acute Lymphoblastic LeukemiaObesity

The purpose of this study is determine the effectiveness of a six-month virtually-delivered dietary education intervention (PEDALL) on the prevention of overweight and obesity (OW/OB) during maintenance chemotherapy in children and adolescents with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).

KIR Favorable Mismatched Haplo Transplant and KIR Polymorphism in ALL/AML/MDS Allo-HCT Children...

Acute Lymphoblastic LeukemiaAcute Myeloid Leukemia1 more

This is a phase II, open-label, non-randomized, prospective study of haploidentical transplantation using KIR-favorable donors for children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT). The relationship of KIR2DL1 polymorphisms to survival in children with these diseases undergoing any approach to allogeneic HCT during the study time frame will also be determined.

Profiling Program of Cancer Patients With Sequential Tumor and Liquid Biopsies (PLANET)

Advanced / Metastic Solid TumorsGlioblastoma1 more

The proposal is to conduct a prospective, multi-cohort study aiming to decipher molecular profiles/biological characteristics of advanced cancer patients during the course of their disease with longitudinal and sequential analyses of tumor and liquid biopsies. This approach will allow i) to develop a model in order to predict tumor response / resistance in real life conditions and to better understand adaptive mechanisms and ii) to potentially propose therapeutic options to enrolled patients following the review of the biological/molecular data generated during this study and during a Molecular Tumor Board in case of disease progression. This study will include 12 cohorts according to tumor type and standard treatment received (See Inclusion criteria I1). Patient will be enrolled before the initiation of standard anti-cancer treatment.

Effect of Fish Oil on Hyperlipidemia and Toxicities in Children and Young Adults With Acute Lymphoblastic...

LeukemiaAcute Lymphoblastic

Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is the most common malignant disease among children. Treatment results have improved over time due to intensive risk-adapted therapy and the 5-year survival rate is now above 90%. However, the burden of therapy has increased proportionally. Many children develop serious acute and chronic side effects, which impact on the patients expected lifespan and impair their quality of life as a result of therapy. Treatment with PEG-asparaginase and dexamethasone increases the levels of triglycerides and total cholesterol. Consequently, the incidence of hyperlipidemia is high during initial ALL therapy. Studies have suggested that hyperlipidemia is a risk factor for development of osteonecrosis, thrombosis and possibly acute pancreatitis. Long-chained marine omega-3 fatty acids, found in fish oil, decrease levels of triglycerides and total cholesterol in hyperlipidemic patients. Due to the high survival rate, it is of great interest to develop methods to reduce treatment related toxicities. The investigators hypothesise that daily intake of fish oil will prevent development of hyperlipidemia during ALL treatment phases with dexamethasone and PEG-asparaginase compared to placebo and that fish oil intake may reduce the incidence of severe adverse events related to ALL treatment.

Acute Lymphoblastic LeukemiaVitamin d Deficiency

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of supplementation with Omega 3, Vitamin D and Calcium, in a cohort of children with ALL undergoing treatment and compare changes in the concentrations of biomarkers of bone resorption (TRAP5b, CTX, and RANKL), the RANKL/OPG ratio, and biomarkers of bone formation (BALP, OC, PINP, PICP and OPG) after 6 and 12 weeks of supplementation.
