Lopinavir and Ritonavir in Improving Immune Response to Vaccines in Patients With Complete Remission...

Hodgkin LymphomaStage I Adult Hodgkin Lymphoma3 more

RATIONALE: HIV protease inhibitors, including Lopinavir/Ritonavir have intrinsic anti-apoptotic properties in addition to their anti-viral effect on HIV. This anti-apoptotic effect may boost the immune system to help the body create a better immune response to vaccines. PURPOSE: This randomized clinical trial studies giving lopinavir and ritonavir together in improving immune response to vaccines in patients with complete remission following a bone marrow transplant for Hodgkin lymphoma.

Imetelstat for Children With Refractory or Recurrent Solid Tumors and Lymphoma

Solid TumorsLymphoma

Background: - Imetelstat is a cancer treatment drug that may slow or stop tumor growth. It may also prevent tumors from spreading to other parts of the body. Researchers want to see if it can be a safe and effective treatment for children who have solid tumors or lymphoma that have not responded to other treatments. Objectives: - To see if imetelstat is a safe and effective treatment for children who have solid tumors or lymphoma that have not responded to other treatments. Eligibility: - Children and adolescents between 1 and 21 years of age who have solid tumors or lymphoma that have not responded to other treatments. Design: Participants will be screened with a physical exam, medical history, and imaging studies. Blood and urine samples will also be collected. Participants will receive imetelstat on the first and eighth day of a 21-day cycle of treatment. Treatment will be monitored with frequent blood tests and imaging studies. Tumor biopsies may also be performed. Participants will keep taking the study drugs for up to a total of 18 cycles as long as the disease does not progress and there are no severe side effects....

Immunotherapy for Lymphoproliferative Diseases Associated With Epstein-Barr Virus in Patients Who...

LeukemiaLymphoma

RATIONALE: Donor lymphocytes that have been exposed to Epstein-Barr virus may be able to help the body kill cancers associated with this virus. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of Epstein-Barr virus-specific T cells derived from matched donors in organ transplant patients with lymphoproliferative diseases associated with Epstein-Barr virus.

Antiviral Therapy Plus Either Peripheral Stem Cell or Umbilical Cord Blood Transplantation in Treating...

LeukemiaLymphoma

RATIONALE: Antiviral agents are drugs that act against viruses and may be an effective treatment for HIV. Peripheral stem cell transplantation or umbilical cord blood transplantation may be able to replace immune cells that were destroyed by chemotherapy and radiation therapy used to kill tumor cells. Combining either umbilical cord blood transplantation or peripheral stem cell transplantation with antiviral therapy may be an effective treatment for HIV-positive patients who have hematologic cancer. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of antiviral therapy plus either peripheral stem cell transplantation or umbilical cord blood transplantation in treating HIV-positive patients who have refractory or recurrent hematologic cancer.

Talotrexin in Treating Young Patients With Recurrent Solid Tumors or Leukemia That is Recurrent...

Brain and Central Nervous System TumorsLeukemia3 more

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as talotrexin, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of talotrexin in treating young patients with recurrent solid tumors or leukemia that is recurrent or does not respond to treatment.

Fludarabine, Pixantrone and Rituximab vs Fludarabine and Rituximab forRelapsed or Refractory Indolent...

Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma

BBR 2778 is a novel aza-anthracenedione that has activity in experimental tumors and reduced delayed cardiotoxicity in animal models compared to reference standards. This cytotoxic agent has structural similarities to mitoxantrone as well as general similarities to anthracyclines (such as the tricyclic central quinoid chromophore7). This phase III study will compare the efficacy and safety of the combination BBR 2778, fludarabine, and rituximab with the combination fludarabine and rituximab in patients with relapsed or refractory indolent non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Denileukine Diftitox for Relapsed ALCL

Anaplastic Large-Cell Lymphoma

The purpose of this study is to determine is Denileukin diftitox will be safe, well tolerated and induce a significant overall response alone and in combination with chemotherapy: ifosfamide, carboplatin and etoposide (ICE) and will be safe and well tolerated in a population of children, adolescents and young adults with relapsed or refractory anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL).

Busulfan and Fludarabine Before Donor Stem Cell Transplant in Treating Patients With Hematologic...

AnemiaChronic Myeloproliferative Disorders5 more

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as busulfan and fludarabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving chemotherapy with a peripheral stem cell or bone marrow transplant may allow more chemotherapy to be given so that more cancer cells are killed. Sometimes the transplanted cells from a donor can make an immune response against the body's normal cells. Tacrolimus and methotrexate may stop this from happening. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving busulfan together with fludarabine before donor stem cell transplant works in treating patients with hematologic cancer.

PRELUDE:Study to Investigate the Prevention of Relapse in Lymphoma Using Daily Enzastaurin

Non Hodgkin Lymphoma

This clinical research study is to investigate the prevention of relapse in patients with diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) using enzastaurin daily. This is a randomised trial which compares Enzastaurin to Placebo (dummy treatment), the chance of receiving Enzastaurin is 2 to 1.
