The principal objective of the study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of temsirolimus use in patients with Renal Cell Carcinoma and Mantle Cell Lymphoma.

RATIONALE: Studying samples of blood and tumor tissue from patients with cancer in the laboratory may help doctors learn more about changes that occur in DNA and identify biomarkers related to cancer. It may also help doctors predict how well patients will respond to treatment. PURPOSE: This research study is studying biomarkers in predicting response to rituximab treatment in samples from patients with indolent follicular lymphoma.

A research study of a new method of visualizing internal organs called 18F-FLT PET/CT that yields better tracking of cancer treatment progress. PET/CT stands for positron emission tomography with low dose computed tomography and has been used for many years. 18F-FLT PET/CT uses a new tracer, fluorothymidine, which is taken up by cells that are actively proliferating or dividing such as cancer cells. We hope to learn whether this tracer is superior to the conventional tracer for monitoring treatment of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).

PURPOSE: This research study is looking at blood and tissue samples from patients with follicular lymphoma treated with rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin hydrochloride, vincristine, and prednisone.

RATIONALE: Studying the dendritic cells in samples of blood from patients with cancer receiving aflibercept may help doctors learn about the effect of aflibercept on dendritic cells. PURPOSE: This laboratory study is evaluating dendritic cells in patients with advanced solid tumors or non-Hodgkin lymphoma receiving aflibercept on clinical trial VGFT-ST-0202.

PURPOSE: This laboratory study is examining biological markers in patients with follicular lymphoma treated on clinical trial SWOG-8809, SWOG-9800, or SWOG-9911.

PURPOSE: This laboratory study is looking at biomarkers in patients with stage III or stage IV follicular lymphoma treated on clinical trial E-1496.

RATIONALE: Collecting and storing samples of tissue from patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma to study in the laboratory may help the study of cancer in the future. PURPOSE: This laboratory study is collecting and storing tissue samples from patients with relapsed or recurrent non-Hodgkin lymphoma after treatment on a Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG) clinical trial.

RATIONALE: Collecting information about the effect of hematologic cancer and its treatment on quality of life may help doctors learn more about the disease and plan the best treatment. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying quality of life in younger leukemia and lymphoma survivors.

RATIONALE: Studying immune response to flu vaccine in patients who have undergone a stem cell transplant may help doctors plan the best treatment. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying flu vaccine to see how well it works in preventing infection in patients who have undergone a stem cell transplant and in healthy volunteers.
