"Night Vision and Carotenoids"
Macular DegenerationVision at twilight and night is more difficult and dangerous for the entire population, even more so for the elderly and especially for the elderly with degenerative disease. Multiple worldwide laboratories have demonstrated the ability to raise macular pigment optical density with dietary carotenoids. This proposal further evaluates the relationship between macular re- pigmentation and vision under stressed conditions simulating twilight and night driving.
Macula Evolution in Patients With AMD Taking Oral Food Supplementation
Age Related Macular DegenerationLT7082-001 is an open-label, single-arm pilot study. Patients with intermediate age-related macular degeneration (AMD) wil take T7082 during 12 months , an association of 4 food supplementations . The study objectives are to describe morphological changes and evolution of drusen in macula after a 12-month of food supplementation and to assess the safety of T7082
Ocular Discomfort Assessment After Intravitreal Injections
Macular DegenerationDiabetic Retinopathy3 moreIn this study, ocular discomfort following intravitreal injection in naïve patients will be studied, as well as the efficacy of wetting agent (Optive eyewash) to prevent ocular discomfort.
Aqueous Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) Levels in Type 3 Neovascularization
Age-related Macular DegenerationThis is a pilot, prospective, interventional, case-control study investigating aqueous levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in eyes with AMD-related neovascularization treated with intravitreal bevacizumab at the Medical Retina Department, University of Molise, Campobasso.

A Prospective Study Comparing Ranibizumab Plus Dexamethasone Combination Therapy Versus Ranibizumab...
Exudative Age-Related Macular DegenerationThe primary objective of this proposed research study is to evaluate the safety of intravitreal ranibizumab in combination with intravitreal dexamethasone in comparison to intravitreal ranibizumab alone in the treatment of wet ARMD. The addition of the broad spectrum anti-inflammatory activity of dexamethasone may augment the anti-VEGF activity of ranibizumab by amelioration of inflammation existing in the microenvironment of the choroidal neovascularization. While the anti-VEGF agents have proven to be very efficacious in the treatment of exudative ARMD, their narrow target and window of activity may limit their overall durability of action.
Effectiveness of Prism Spectacles in Patients With Age Related Macular Degeneration
Age-Related Macular DegenerationA study is conducted to determine the effectiveness of prism spectacles in improving visual acuity with age related macular degeneration patients and to assess the improvement in quality of life in patients by using prism spectacles.
A Long-Term Monitoring Study of the IMT-002 Patients
Macular DegenerationThis is a 5-year study of patients implanted with the Implantable Miniature Telescope (IMT by Dr. Isaac Lipshitz) under Protocol IMT-002. All patients implanted with the telescope prosthesis who enrolled in the IMT-002 trial were asked to participate in this study to monitor long-term safety. Patients will undergo examinations at six-month intervals up to a total of 5 years following implantation.
