Everolimus and Vatalanib in Treating Patients With Advanced Solid Tumors
GastrinomaGlucagonoma19 moreRATIONALE: Everolimus and vatalanib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth and by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Giving everolimus together with vatalanib may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of everolimus and vatalanib in treating patients with advanced solid tumors.
Temsirolimus in Treating Patients With Metastatic Neuroendocrine Carcinoma
Metastatic Gastrointestinal Carcinoid TumorPulmonary Carcinoid Tumor2 moreThis phase II trial is studying how well CCI-779 works in treating patients with progressive metastatic neuroendocrine tumors. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as CCI-779, work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die.
Gefitinib in Treating Patients With Progressive Metastatic Neuroendocrine Tumors
GastrinomaGlucagonoma7 moreThis phase II trial is studying how well gefitinib works in treating patients with progressive metastatic neuroendocrine tumors. Gefitinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for their growth.
Combination Chemotherapy Plus Interferon Alfa Followed by Filgrastim in Treating Patients With Gastrointestinal...
Extrahepatic Bile Duct CancerGastric Cancer4 moreRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Interferon alfa may interfere with the growth of cancer cells. Colony-stimulating factors such as filgrastim may increase the number of immune cells found in bone marrow or peripheral blood and may help a person recover from the side effects of chemotherapy. Combining chemotherapy with interferon alfa may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combining chemotherapy and interferon alfa followed by filgrastim in treating patients who have gastrointestinal tract cancer.
Yttrium Y 90 SMT 487 in Treating Patients With Refractory or Recurrent Cancer
Brain and Central Nervous System TumorsBreast Cancer6 moreRATIONALE: Radiolabeled drugs such as yttrium Y 90 SMT 487 can locate tumor cells and deliver tumor-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of yttrium Y 90 SMT 487 in treating patients who have refractory or recurrent cancer.
Bevacizumab and PEG-Interferon Alfa-2b in Treating Patients With Metastatic or Unresectable Carcinoid...
Metastatic Gastrointestinal Carcinoid TumorRecurrent Gastrointestinal Carcinoid Tumor1 moreThis randomized phase II trial is to see if combining bevacizumab with PEG-interferon alfa-2b works in treating patients who have metastatic or unresectable carcinoid tumors. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block cancer growth in different ways. Some block the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread. Others find cancer cells and help kill them or deliver cancer-killing substances to them. PEG-interferon alfa-2b may stop the growth of cancer by stopping blood flow to the tumor. Combining bevacizumab with PEG-interferon alfa-2b may kill more cancer cells
Oxaliplatin Plus Irinotecan in Treating Patients With Metastatic Gastrointestinal Cancer
Anal CancerColorectal Cancer8 moreRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of oxaliplatin plus irinotecan in treating patients with previously treated metastatic gastrointestinal cancer that has not responded to previous treatment.
Telotristat Etiprate for Carcinoid Syndrome Therapy
Carcinoid SyndromeThe purpose of the study is to evaluate the effect of telotristat etiprate versus placebo on the incidence of treatment-emergent adverse events and on 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5-HIAA) levels.
Temsirolimus and Vinorelbine Ditartrate in Treating Patients With Unresectable or Metastatic Solid...
Extensive Stage Small Cell Lung CancerHereditary Paraganglioma46 moreRATIONALE: Temsirolimus may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as vinorelbine ditartrate, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving temsirolimus together with vinorelbine ditartrate may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of giving temsirolimus and vinorelbine ditartrate together in treating patients with unresectable or metastatic solid tumors.
An Efficacy and Safety Study of Somatuline Depot (Lanreotide) Injection to Treat Carcinoid Syndrome...
Carcinoid SyndromeThe purpose of this study was to determine whether monthly deep subcutaneous (s.c.) injections of lanreotide Autogel (Somatuline Depot) were effective and safe in controlling diarrhoea and flushing by reducing the usage of s.c. short-acting octreotide as a rescue medication to control symptoms in subjects with carcinoid syndrome.
