DNA Methylation and Urothelial Carcinoma

Urothelial Carcinoma

Many studies previously showed the significant association between urinary arsenic profiles and urothelial carcinoma (UC) risk and observed the increased UC risk in people with lower plasma folate and higher homocysteine than those with higher plasma folate and lower homocysteine. The investigators would expect to explore the interactions among global DNA methylation, one-carbon metabolic pathway factors, urinary arsenic profiles and UC.

Portal Hypertension and Liver Resection in Patients With Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Primary Liver Cancers

According to the BCLC guidelines, surgical resection of hepatocellular carcinoma complicating cirrhosis is restricted to patients with preserved liver function, single nodule without vascular invasion and with hepatic venous gradient below 10 mmHg. However, other guideline treatment, especially from eastern countries demonstrated that surgical resection is safe and feasible and provides better survival than the treatment recommended by the BCLC system for patients with similar stage. The primary goal of this study is to assess the impact of HVPG on short and long-term outcomes in HCC patients who undergo liver resection.

Developing an In-vitro Diagnostic Risk-Stratification Test for Oral Cancer

Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma

The purpose of this study is to verify the discriminatory value of previously identified salivary transcriptome and proteome markers for oral squamous cell cancer in an intended use population of patients with oral lesions suspicious for cancer.

Dietary Factors and Risk of Gallbladder Carcinoma in China

Dietary Habits

The purpose of this study is to see how people's diets, other aspects of their lifestyles affect their chances of getting gallbladder carcinoma in China. This survey will enroll 100 patients who have had gallbladder carcinoma,as well as controls with gallstones. The investigators will compare these two groups of subjects to see what factors may lead to gallbladder carcinoma.

Non Small Cell Lung Carcinoma

The primary aim of this non interventional study is to assess the independent prognostic role on overall survival of primary tumour 18F-FDG uptake value (SUVmax) measured on 18fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (18F-FDG-PET) in patients with non-metastatic non-small cell lung cancers treated with curative intent, taking into account the other conventional prognostic factors (performance status, age, sex, disease stage).

Laparoendoscopic Single-site Radical Nephrectomy for Localized Renal Cell Carcinoma

Localized Renal Cell Carcinoma

Surgical resection is the only potential curative treatment available for renal cell carcinoma. The purpose of this study is to clarify the surgical and oncologic outcomes of laparoendoscopic single-site radical nephrectomy for localized Renal Cell Carcinoma.
