Does Type of Anesthesia Influence Inflammation Change After Breast Surgery?

Breast Cancer Female

The Neutrophil to Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) is a frequently used biomarker of the systemic inflammatory response and is considered one of the most sensitive markers of inflammation. Many studies have documented the association between the use of opioid drugs in the acute phase -as it can be considered the use during general anesthesia- and the increase of the NLR value. Such increase could determine a temporary phase of immunodepression in the immediate post operative period with consequent increase of the inflammatory state. This study intends to assess whether different anesthetic techniques can be associated with different variations of the intra-patient NLR value between pre- and post-surgery. Patient will be randomized to receive either local regional anesthesia protocols with thoracic wall blocks (PEC I and serratus plane block) associated with opioid-free general anesthesia (PECS + Opioid-free GA) or general anesthesia.

T-DM1 in HER2-positive Metastatic/Relapsed Breast Cancer

Breast Cancer

This is a retrospective, multicenter, non-interventional study for the evaluation of real-world efficacy and safety of T-DM1 in metastatic/relapsed HER2-positive breast cancer as part of the establishment of hospital medical record collection system to evaluate drug effectiveness by Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service (HIRA). The medical records in approximately 1,000 patients of HER2-positive locally-advanced unresectable or metastatic breast cancer, who have received Kadcyla(Trastuzumab Emtansine, T-DM1) previously, will be collected.

Predicted Biomarkers of CDK4/6 Inhibitors (Palbociclib) in ER-positive Metastasis Breast Cancer...

Breast Cancer

This is a multi-center, observational study designed to explore the regulatory mechanism of palbociclib correlative pathways in therapeutic process of breast cancer, employing next generation sequencing (NGS) on DNA and RNA. This study also monitor the clonal evolution of genes by tracing the ctDNA.

Long-term Effects of Breast Cancer Treatment

Breast Cancer

The objective of this project is to generate evidence about quality of life related to side effects of treatment of women with screen-detected versus symptomatic breast cancer. The project will investigate the impact of detection mode (by screening or by symptoms) versus tumor characteristics as a predictor of quality of life among breast cancer survivors. The burden of long-term effects, measured as quality of life at specific points after diagnosis, will be compared between these groups. The results will also be compared with a control group of women, who have attended screening, but never been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Potential of Circulating Tumor DNA to Assess the Tumor Response to Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy in Breast...

Breast CancerNeoadjuvant Chemotherapy1 more

Breast cancer is the most common malignant tumor in women worldwide, and there exist a large part of patients need to receive neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NAC) before the curative surgery.Circulating tumor DNA(ctDNA) is the circulating free DNA in the blood that originates from cancers, and it can be detected by modern technologies in plasma. In this prospective study, investigators aim to observe the correlation between tumor response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy and ctDNA.

Targeted Next Generation Sequencing for the Efficacy of Trastuzumab Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy in...

ObservationalProspective

To explore the genetic background of patients with HER2 positive breast cancer that benefit from trastuzumab combined with neoadjuvant chemotherapy, identify clinically actionable mutations that associated with trastuzumab resistance or drug efficacy, we designed this Observational phase II trial. The primary endpoint is genetic profile of HER2+ breast cancer patients treated with trastuzumab combined neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Secondary endpoints included pathological complete response (pCR) rate and safety.

Evaluating and Following Breast Cancer Patients in a Better Way

Breast Cancer Female

The current observational study aims at analysing current semiology on breast cancer patients aiming at noting indicators and signs with significant relationship with the disease outcomes. To reach the primary objective, of identifying most prominent indicators and signs, a study group of at least 100 female patients with breast cancer diagnosis will be recruited to participate voluntarily. The study group will include at least 20 patients with metastatic cancer and 30 patients with indication to adjuvant chemotherapy. Their physical activity habits and lifestyle will be noted. The observational study will consist in the periodic registration of the overall physical and psychological condition. The variables and tests below will be measured and registered, periodically: periodical assessment of the quality of life periodical assessment of the fitness status of the subjects assessment of changes in bone density/progression of osteoporosis assessment of changes in cognitive function assessment of sleep disorders The collected results will be statistically analysed, in order to: Identify variables that are statistically significantly different from expected values quantify statistically significant differences, whenever possible The results will be used to better describe the breast cancer population

Physical Activity Levels and Functional Improvement in Breast Cancer Survivors

Breast Cancer

The main objective of our project is to describe what characteristics (e.g., age, current physical activity level) women present when starting the exercise program are potentially associated with an improvement in functional abilities measured with different tests such as the distance you can cover while walking for six minutes.
