Breast cancer is the most frequently occurring cancer, assuming that it accounts for 29% of all new cancers in women (European Cancer Information System). The number of long-term survivors is increasing rapidly due to improving accuracy of the detecting methods, the early diagnosis and advances in cancer treatment. The International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement Initiative described upper limb (UL) function as the health outcome that matters most for breast cancer survivors (BCS). 50% of BCS at 6 months post-radiotherapy suffer from of decreased UL function, i.e. difficulties in performing activities of daily living with the upper limb. Patients experiencing UL dysfunctions and other problems are less likely to be physically active. Given that physical inactivity is associated with an increased risk of mortality after breast cancer, taking away the barriers to physical activity (e.g. UL dysfunctions) is very important. Identifying these factors contributing to chronic UL dysfunction is important in terms of identifying targets for prospective evaluation and specific treatment approaches at specific time points during breast cancer treatment. This study aims to find reliable and valid assessment methods for the prognostic factors and upper limb function itself in a small group of BCS and healthy volunteers.

Coronary Artery Calcium and Cardiovascular Risk Factors Analysis After RT or Breast Cancer

This is a no-profit, national, monocenter, retrospective, and prospective low-intervention study. It is a low-intervention study in terms of diagnostic additional procedure (CT scan). It is planned to recruit a maximum of 100 women diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer and treated with adjuvant breast radiotherapy from 2010 to 2017 at the European Institute of Oncology who meet all the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The aim of the Study is to analyze a population of breast cancer patients treated by adjuvant whole breast radiotherapy to identify the most important cardiovascular (CV) risk factors linked to coronary artery disease (CAD) development, in a cure-without-complications oncology strategy.

This phase II trial tests whether low-dose aspirin can affect markers of inflammation in postpartum (after childbirth) patients with benign breast disease planning to have a breast biopsy. Chronic inflammation may increase the risk of postpartum related breast cancer. Low-dose aspirin is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Giving low-dose aspirin may affect markers of inflammation in blood and tissue and may prevent postpartum related breast cancer.

Molecular Breast Imaging Guidance for Breast Biopsy for Patients With Breast Abnormalities

This clinical trial tests how well molecular breast imaging (MBI) works to guide the collection of a breast biopsy in patients with a breast abnormality. Currently, a biopsy is often guided by either ultrasound or mammography in order to ensure that a sample of the correct part of the breast is taken. Sometimes a lesion or part of the lesion cannot be seen on ultrasound or mammography, and, therefore, a biopsy guided with ultrasound or mammography may not be always be accurate. Studies have shown that high resolution MBI may have potential to improve the detection of some breast tumors. This trial uses a new high-resolution MBI system that may help perform a biopsy using MBI.

This clinical trial evaluates automated breast ultrasound (ABUS) and handheld ultrasound (HHUS) for the screening of women who have undergone breast reconstruction after breast cancer. Ultrasounds use high-frequency sound waves to create pictures of internal organs and tissues. ABUS has been found to be equal to HHUS for whole breast screening, but no data exist on its use for screening of reconstructed patients. This clinical trial evaluates the feasibility of using ABUS versus HHUS to screen women who have undergone reconstruction.

The AdDePi-KS project aims to contribute to the renovation of the breast cancer screening program. In order to improve information to women on breast cancer risk factors and their participation in organized screening, but also to reduce the incidence of the disease, the prevention policy currently in place could be adapted and optimized based on the assessment of women's individual risk factors. The current principle of the platform is to offer women a breast cancer risk assessment and prevention consultation with a clinical examination and the use of three breast cancer risk calculation models: Tyrer Cuzick (TC) Mammorisk© (MMR) and CANRISK. In parallel to the use of these three softwares, the Eisinger and Manchester scores are also calculated to evaluate the indication of an oncogenetic consultation. At the end of this analysis, a personalized prevention plan (PPP) proposal, adaptable by the practitioner by shared decision with the consultant, is generated and proposed. The risk assessment and the monitoring strategy are explained to the consultant and when "actionable" risk factors are identified, personalized assistance is proposed (dietary consultation, smoking consultation, distribution of information documents, particularly on physical activity). The objective of this study is to evaluate the impact of the consultation in the long term, in particular on compliance with the recommended monitoring methods and on the "actionable" personal risk factors. For this purpose, investigators propose to set up follow-up questionnaires at 2, 3 and 5 years. These questionnaires will also make it possible to monitor over time how the notion of risk is perceived and how this could influence primary (action on risk factors) and secondary (screening) prevention behaviors. Thus, by accompanying the objectives and methods of prevention in a genuine health democracy process, investigators will be able to identify certain obstacles and levers linked to the implementation of these actions.
