Photobiomodulation for Prevention of Chemotherapy-induced Peripheral Neuropathy in Women With Breast...
Peripheral Nervous System Diseases AND Breast NeoplasmsDouble-blind Superiority Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial. Objective of the study: To evaluate the effectiveness of photobiomodulation using the LED board in the prevention of peripheral neuropathy in the lower limbs in women with breast cancer undergoing chemotherapy at the Cancer Hospital III of the National Cancer Institute (HCIII/INCA).
Direct Tumor Microinjection and FDG-PET in Testing Drug Sensitivity in Patients With Relapsed or...
Breast AdenocarcinomaMetastatic Breast Carcinoma12 moreThis pilot phase I trial studies the side effects of direct tumor microinjection and fludeoxyglucose F-18 positron emission tomography (FDG-PET) in testing drug sensitivity in patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma, or stage IV breast cancer that has returned after a period of improvement or does not respond to treatment. Injecting tiny amounts of anti-cancer drugs directly into tumors on the skin or in lymph nodes and diagnostic procedures, such as FDG-PET, may help to show which drugs work better in treating patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma, or breast cancer.
PCI in Advanced Triple Negative Breast Cancer Patients Who Response to 1st Line Chemotherapy
Breast CancerBrain MetastasisThe purpose of this study is to compare whether prophylactic cranial irradiation in patients with advanced triple negative breast cancer who had a response to first line chemotherapy could prolong brain-metastasis free survival.
Treating Verbal Memory Deficits Following Chemotherapy for Breast Cancer
Breast Cancer TreatmentCognitive DeficitsThe primary purpose of this study is to test the effects of a targeted, computerized cognitive training program on verbal memory in older women who have undergone chemotherapy treatment for early-stage breast cancer. As measured by neuropsychological assessment, this treatment will result in improved verbal memory. Secondarily, processing speed and naming abilities are expected to improve. Enhanced self-perception of cognitive ability is also expected.
Effect of Early Point-of-Service Social and Behavioral Determinants of Health (SBDOH) Screening...
Breast CancerThe overarching goal of this project is to optimize the collection of social and behavioral determinants of health (SBDOH) for patients with a pathological diagnosis of breast cancer at Penn Medicine. The investigators will measure rates of SBDOH data collection by modality and rates of referral to and uptake of social support services, time to evaluation, staff time, acceptability, patient-centered communication, medical mistrust, and clinician acceptability.
Utilizing Advocates and Supporters to Increase Lung Cancer Screening Rates in Eligible Participants...
Breast CarcinomaLung CarcinomaThis clinical trial assesses the use of advocates and supporters of breast and lung cancer screening to increase lung cancer screening rates amongst eligible participants. Imaging-based cancer screening is utilized with variable frequency. Breast cancer screening with mammography has been widely accepted and is commonly used among eligible women. Lung screening with computed tomography scans is poorly used, despite the potential to decrease deaths from lung cancer. There are many reasons lung screening isn't being used when compared to breast screening, such as smoking stigma and fear, along with a lack of awareness of lung screening. By conducting this trial, researchers want to assess the effectiveness of advocates and supporters of breast and lung screening, and to learn about the psychological barriers to cancer screening, identifying those that are unique to lung screening.
