Open Label Study of Lithium Plus Extended-Release Carbamazepine (ERC-CBZ) for Rapid Cycling Bipolar...

Bipolar Disorder

This is an open label design using Lithium plus extended release carbamazepine (Equetro) in combination for 6 months. Rapid cycling bipolar disorder is frequently treatment refractory and associated with repeated hospitalizations and complications. The results of this study will offer a promising approach to treat this complex disorder. The primary efficacy measure will be the time to relapse. Relapse will determined by the investigator based on the following: Need for additional pharmacotherapy for mood-related symptoms, hospitalization for an mood episode, increase of more than 50% in HAM-D and YMRS scores from the baseline visit.

Combination Therapy in Dual Diagnosis Bipolar Rapid Cycling

Bipolar Disorder

Combination Therapy in Dual Diagnosis Bipolar Rapid Cycling: This study recruits males and females age 18 and older who currently meet diagnostic criteria for rapid cycling bipolar disorder (type I or II) and who have met the criteria for substance abuse or dependence of cocaine, marijuana and/or alcohol within the past six months. Patients begin treatment with a combination of lithium and divalproex. Once these medications are tolerated, they are randomly assigned to double-blind treatment with lamotrigine or placebo. Brain Circuitry Analysis in Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar Disorder

The goal of this cross-sectional study is to use diffusion-weighted imaging based tractography (DWT) to assess white matter (WM) pathways in treatment-refractory bipolar disorder (REF-BD) and treatment responsive bipolar disorder (RSP-BD) subjects compared to healthy controls (HCs). This project will include a prospective controlled trial to include 50 subjects with REF-BD, 50 patients RSP-BD and 50 healthy volunteers.

Post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection can cause multiple system function disorders, and complicated symptoms last for an extended period. The virus can cause this continued infection, or the virus causes immune system function disorder and post-infectious autoimmune disease. The clinical symptoms can be smell loss, taste loss to liver function disorder, kidney function failure, different. No matter how complicated the systems showed in the clinic, all of the symptoms are due to the specific cells being damaged. Our clinical study is focused on recovering the damaged structure and function of the cells that could restore the organ function back to normal or close to normal
