The purpose of this study is to examine whether tobacco smoking is associated with bipolar affective disorder (severity of depressive and manic symptoms, presence of psychotic symptoms, history of a suicide attempts and other clinical features.)

This study is aimed to evaluate the bipolar disorder symptoms in patients presented with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder or recurrent depression. Bipolar disorder is a group of mood disorders characterised by elevated or irritable mood episodes in patient's lifetime history accompanied by some additional symptoms. In this study modern bipolar disorders screening/assessment instruments will be used to explore the prevalence of bipolarity symptoms in patients who never been diagnosed with bipolar disorders. The results of this study could be useful for more accurate assessment of bipolar disorders prevalence in psychiatric patient population, could help to improve the diagnostics of bipolar disorders and management of bipolar patients.

The primary purpose of the study is to explore management of symptomatology in patients with bipolar disorder that experience a new manic,depressive or mixed episode and are treated with Seroquel XR monotherapy/adjuctive, in routine clinical practice in Romania

The study is based on a hypothesis that there is interaction between the activity in the immune system and in the mind. To study this, the investigators register different measures for activity in the immune system on patients unselectedly admitted to an acute psychiatric ward. The psychiatric statuses and diagnoses of these patients are carefully defined as well.

This is a multicenter,open-label,prospective study of Aripiprazole use in patients with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

This study is being done to look at the electrical activity of the heart. This study will help decide whether taking recordings for a 24-hour period gives more useful information than recording it for a few seconds in a doctor's office. The study will compare 24 hour electrocardiogram (ECG) results of patients taking thioridazine (Mellaril) to those of other patients taking different medications that took part in another study.

This research protocol seeks to learn more about bipolar disorder in children and adolescents ages 6-17. Researchers will describe the moods and behaviors of children with bipolar disorder and use specialized testing and brain imaging to learn about specific brain changes associated with the disorder. This protocol studies children who have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and those who have a sibling or parent with bipolar disorder and are thus considered "at risk" for developing the disorder.

Relapses in bipolar disorders are associated with a significant proportional functional impact, as well as worsening of the course of bipolar disorder, with impairment of the quality of functional remission, as well as the development of addictive, anxiety and suicidal comorbidities.The functional deficit and the instability of the mood disorder increase with thymic relapses. Currently, these relapses (transition from the state of remission, to a depressive or hyperthymic state) are difficult to predict and to treat because of the absence of correlation between the degree of severity of the stressful event (intensity associated stress) and the occurrence of relapse, taking into account the mediation of this relationship by the stress compensation / adaptation capacities, which are very individual. This project proposes to develop tools based on artificial intelligence technologies to monitor the level of stress and adaptation to life events as well as identifying relapse predictive factors of a patient by using portable and connected devices recording different physiological signals in order to alert him/her when there is a risk of relapse, thus anticipating therapeutic strategies.

There is no currently-approved pharmacotherapy for patients with Treatment-Resistant Bipolar Depression and Suicidal Ideation or behavior. The purpose of this Expanded Access Treatment Protocol is to make NRX-101 available to patients who have depression and suicidal ideation despite treatment with currently approved medication and to gather information on safety and efficacy in a real-world data environment. Participants will be treated by their own practicing psychiatrist and will agree to periodic psychometric evaluations to assess depression, suicidal ideation, and side effects.

This study is being carried out to find out how patients suffering from the acute manic phase of bipolar disease are currently managed with Quetiapine Immediate Release (IR) or Quetiapine Extended Release (XR) in the hospital setting in real life practice, including length of stay.
