Clinical Trial of Phenformin in Combination With BRAF Inhibitor + MEK Inhibitor for Patients With...

Melanoma

The purpose of this study is to test whether it is safe to give phenformin with the standard drug combination of one of 3 FDA-approved combinations of BRAF inhibitor + MEK inhibitor which are standard treatments for patients with metastatic melanoma whose melanoma has a mutation in a gene called BRAF.

'Cancer Patients Better Life Experience'

Melanoma

The purpose of this study is to compare health-related quality of life, specifically fatigue, in melanoma patients treated with immunotherapy who use or do not use a patient-centered mobile coaching and monitoring system (CAPABLE). It is expected that by using the CAPABLE eHealth tool, patients' fatigue worsens less significantly (10 points) in the first 3 months follow-up than observed in usual care.

Whole-body DW-MRI and cfDNA Analysis for the Surveillance of Melanoma Patients at High Risk for...

Melanoma

Patients with locally advanced melanoma are at high risk for recurrence following surgical treatment. More patients with stage IV melanoma remain in complete remission following systemic therapy. No standards have been established for the surveillance of patients at high risk for recurrence. Whole-body diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging and cfDNA analysis of blood are innovative imaging and laboratory investigations that may be of benefit for early detection of recurrence in this patient population.

Personalized Circulating DNA Follow-up in Melanoma (PERCIMEL)

Melanoma

PERCIMEL is an open multicentric study. The purpose of this study is to assess the interest of molecular analysis on circulating tumor DNA in the follow-up of the disease.

Atypical MOLes and Melanoma Early Detection Study (MoleMed)

MelanomaMelanoma (Skin)15 more

This is a multicenter, ambispective, low-interventional clinical study evaluating molecular genetic markers for non-invasive differential diagnosis of benign and malignant pigmented skin and mucosal neoplasms. In retrospective cohorts genetics markers will be identified. In prospective cohort non-invasive adhesive system will be tested to identify malignant or benign lesions with prespecified sensitivity and specificity compared to other non-invasive techniques (i.e. dermoscopy) and using histopathological examination as a "golden standard".

Precise DCE-MRI in Diagnosing Participants With Recurrent High Grade Glioma or Melanoma Brain Metastases...

Brain MetastasesGlioma of Brain2 more

Dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a potentially powerful diagnostic tool for the management of brain cancer and other conditions in which the blood-brain barrier is compromised. This trial studies how well precise DCE MRI works in diagnosing participants with high grade glioma that has come back or melanoma that has spread to the brain. The specially-tailored acquisition and reconstruction (STAR) DCE MRI could provide improved assessment of brain tumor status and response to therapy.

The Impact of an Antibiotic (Cefazolin) Before Surgery on the Microbiome in Patients With Stage...

Clinical Stage I Cutaneous Melanoma AJCC v8Clinical Stage IA Cutaneous Melanoma AJCC v812 more

This phase I trial investigates the impact of cefazolin before surgery on the microbiome in patients with stage I-II melanoma. Antibiotics, such as cefazolin, given at the time of surgery may cause a significant change in the microbes (like bacteria and viruses) found in the stomach and intestines. This trial may help researchers learn if any changes in microbes affect the body's ability to respond to surgery and cancer.
