University Hospital of Ioannina COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019) Registry

COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019)COVID-19 Pandemic6 more

COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019) Registry of University Hospital of Ioannina. Retrospective datasource registry with quantitative and qualitative patient data from the hospital medical records. Epidemiological, clinical and laboratory parameters are recorded on 7 different time points (day: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 15) concerning 793 variables of interest in an electronic (computerised) database. Patients are also followed-up after 90 days from hospital discharge (number of visits of follow-up depends on patient's health status) at the Post-COVID and Long-term effects of coronavirus (long COVID) outpatient clinic of University Hospital of Ioannina. Data from this outpatient clinic are also recorded in an electronic database (189 variables of concern for each patient)

Physical and Cognitive Impairments in People Suffering From Long COVID

COVID-19SARS-CoV-2 Infection7 more

Of the 1,900,000 Canadians who have been infected by COVID-19, 8 to 15% will continue to experience COVID-19 related symptoms well after 12 weeks. The persistence of such symptoms is now defined as "long COVID" syndrome. Current evidence does not provide a clear understanding of the physical and cognitive impairments and functional limitations that persons with long COVID present. The objectives of this project are to describe the physical and cognitive impairments and functional limitations experienced by people with long COVID and compare the evolution over 6 months of people from three separate groups: a group of people with long COVID (long COVID Group), another group of people who contracted COVID-19 but did not experience persistent symptoms (acute COVID Group), and a group of people who did not contract COVID-19 (Control Group). One hundred and twenty adults in each of the three groups will be recruited and will take part in three evaluations within 6 months (baseline and 3 and 6 months after baseline). At baseline, all participants will complete questionnaires on sociodemographics, COVID symptomatology and comorbidity, and self-reported questionnaires on quality of life, functional status, sleep, pain-related disabilities, anxiety, depression, fatigue and cognitive function. Then, physical and cognitive tests will be performed in a laboratory to provide complementary results on impairments and functional limitations. Finally, participants will wear a fitness tracker watch to monitor their activity and sleep for 7 days. The participants will complete the same measures (questionnaires, lab measures, fitness tracker watch) at 3 and 6 months after baseline evaluations. This project will lead to a better understanding of the impairments/limitations experienced following COVID-19. Hence, these results will allow to identify the interventions needed by the population and ensure these are offered through effective healthcare pathways.

Phase II/III Randomized Clinical Trial of Booster Dose of COVID-19 (Recombinant, Inactivated) Vaccine...

Coronavirus InfectionsHealthy

NDV-HXP-S is an inactivated COVID-19 vectored-vaccine virus using the Newcastle Disease Virus as basis and expressing Spike (S) protein from SARS-CoV-2 stabilized in pre-fusion form with Hexapro technology. This vaccine was successfully tested in non-clinical and clinical studies with a good safety profile and eliciting neutralizing antibodies against SARS-CoV-2. Clinical testing is conducted by an international consortium including three different manufacturers. Butantan, in Brazil, is one of them.

Clinical Trial on Sequential Immunization of Recombinant COVID-19 Vaccine (CHO Cells) and Inactivated...

COVID-19 PneumoniaCoronavirus Infections

This is randomized, blinded and controlled design. Among the randomly selected subjects who have been vaccinated with two doses of Inactivated COVID-19 vaccine (Vero cell), based on a step-wise approach, the subjects will receive one dose of recombinant COVID-19 vaccine sequentially at different shedules of 1-3 months, 3-6 months and ≥ 6 months after two doses of vaccination, and the subjects vaccinated at different schedules will be randomly assigned to different sequential immunization groups. At the same time, each sequential immunization group will be matched with a control group with the inactivated COVID-19 vaccine (vero cells) as the booster dose.

Follow-up of Covid-19 Long Term Sequelae

COVID-19 PneumoniaCOVID-19 Respiratory Infection16 more

The protocol, in accordance with the objectives of ORCHESTRA project - Work Package 2, aims at investigating the characteristics and determinants of COVID-19 long-term sequelae. This goal will be reached through the harmonization of follow-up strategies across the participating cohorts to allow a standardized collection of data on COVID-19 long-term sequelae. The result will be a platform including a set of data and biomaterials from large scale international cohorts, that will be uniformly recorded, prospectively tracked and analysed. The ultimate goal will be that of providing evidence to contribute to the optimization and improvement of the management and prevention of COVID-19 sequelae. The follow-up will be organized in multiple levels of tests, according to the capability of each cohort, and will include questionnaires to collect demographic, epidemiological and clinical data, physical examination, radiological exams and biological sampling. The long-term follow-up will also allow the assessment of long-term immunological response to SARS-CoV-2 infection and its association to the vaccination and to different treatment strategies, including monoclonal antibodies.

Kidney in Coronavirus Disease 2019 Registry

Corona Virus InfectionSARS-CoV 2

The SARS-CoV-2 virus is a virus newly identified in January 2020. The WHO defined COVID-19 as a health emergency of international importance. The clinical manifestation of the COVID-19 disease cannot be fully described in the short time. First insights in patients suffering from acute kidney injury (AKI) during COVID-19 indicate severe course with high mortality. The locally varying spread of SARS CoV-2 infection requires a better understanding of clinical course of COVID-19 in order to be able to establish future treatment approaches. The examination of attributable mortality and costs of COVID-19 will need to be studied on a multinational basis and therefore Kidney in COVID-19 Registry will particularly use a matched case control design.

Covid-19 Convalescent Plasma as Prevention and Treatment for Children With Underlying Medical Conditions...

Corona Virus Infection

This study will provide access to investigational anti-SARS-CoV-2 human convalescent plasma for pediatric patients with underlying medical conditions (cardiovascular disease, lung disease, immunosuppression) who are either infected with SARS-CoV-2 or who have had a high-risk exposure. Study participants will be transfused once with compatible convalescent plasma obtained from an individual who has recovered from documented infection with SARS-CoV-2. Safety information and pharmacokinetic data will be collected.
