Diagnosis of Bone Metastases in Breast Cancer: Bone Scintigraphy, Fluoride-PET and FDG-PET

Breast Cancer

Breast cancer can metastasize to the bones, which leads to another treatment if bone metastases are detected. The purpose of the study is to determine, if fluoride PET/CT is superior to bone scintigraphy with technetium. On the other side, the investigators would like to see if FDG-PET/CT is a reliable alternative to dedicated bone imaging to detect bone metastases in patients with breast cancer.

Retrospective Study of Ovarian Cancer Patients With Brain Metastasis

Ovarian CancerBrain Metastases

Ovarian cancer, especially epithelial ovarian carcinoma, has the highest mortality rate among the gynecologic malignancies. The majority of patients with epithelial ovarian carcinoma are diagnosed at advanced stage which has the overall survival rates of only 19-30%. As the advance in the managements which prolonged the overall survival, metastatic lesion in rare location such as brain was noted in few patients of ovarian cancer in recent years. In the retrospective study, the investigators will review the medical records of the ovarian cancer patients with brain metastasis in the investigators hospital to investigate the incidence, clinical courses, optimal managements and possible prognostic factors in the rare condition.

Melanoma Inhibitory Activity (MIA): A Serological Marker for Metastatic Uveal Melanoma

MelanomaRadiotherapy1 more

Uveal Melanoma is the most common primary intraocular tumor in adults. Most tumors metastasize to the liver. So far no sensitive or specific serological tumor marker is routinely used. The marker "Melanoma inhibitory activity" is a promising marker. Study hypothesis is to detect metastatic lesions in an early stage. This would increase life expectance of our patients

The Association Between Alpha 1 Acid Glycoprotein Level and Outcome Metastatic Cancer Treated With...

Metastatic Lung CancerMetastatic Breast Cancer3 more

Docetaxel based chemotherapy is a standard therapy in various metastatic cancers including lung cancer, breast cancer, gastric cancer, prostate cancer, and bladder cancer. One of the main plasma protein carriers of docetaxel is Alpha 1 acid glycoprotein. Retrospective data suggests that plasma level of alpha 1 acid glycoprotein is associated with the outcome of docetaxel based therapy in cancer patients. The investigators aim to prospectively study the association between the plasma level of alpha 1 acid glycoprotein and the outcome of docetaxel based therapy in cancer patients.

Health Related Quality of Life After Surgery and Oncological Treatment of Colorectal Liver Metastases...

MetastasisQuality of Life

The purpose of this trial is to study health related quality of life (HQoL)after resection of colorectal liver metastases combined with perioperative chemotherapy. The investigators want to study if an aggressive, life prolonging and multimodal treatment can be defended from a quality of life perspective.

Metachronic Brain Metastases After Esophagectomy for Esophageal Cancer (METABREC)

Esophageal NeoplasmsEsophagectomy1 more

Esophagectomy is the cornerstone of the curative treatment of esophageal carcinoma. Despite this treatment, patients can suffer from locoregional or distant metastatic disease and only a very selected group of patients can be cured: mostly those with recurrence in one single organ. Brain metastases are rare after esophagectomy for cancer, but they have a serious impact on survival. Agressive treatment is often moren difficult for brain metastases compared to other metastases and some risk factors have been identified earlier. There is an impression that the incidence of brain metastases in esophageal cancer patients has increased since the introduction of neoadjuvant treatment schemes. However, this is not clear yet. A potential explanation could be that chemotherapy disturbs the blood-brain-barrier, hereby facilitating the migration of tumor cells to the brain. The purpose of this study is to retrospectively analyze the incidence and potential risk factors of brain metastases in patients who underwent esophagectomy for esophageal cancer. Patients treated between 2000 and 2019 will be included and outcome parameters are Odds Ratio for brain metastases (comparison between primary surgery and neoadjuvant treatment followed by surgery), time to recurrence and risk factors, number and characteristics of the brain metastases.

Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome Secondary to Covid-19

Study conducted on hospitalized patient in critical ill units in Nancy and Metz to evaluate if early corticosteroid treatment in first seven days after admission improve patients outcome in Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome secondary to Covid-19 compared to later corticosteroid therapy or no treatment. Also comparison of acquired infection with or without corticosteroid treatment during hospitalisation.

Circulating Tumor DNA as Marker for Response to Antineoplastic Treatment of Metastatic Cancer (FLUIDO)...

Metastatic Cancer

Early monitoring of antineoplastic treatment benefit is a central medical need. Radiologic assessment for documentation of response is done after several months of treatment usually. This implies that patients not responding are exposed to unnecessary toxicity. According to several reports showing the correlation of the amount of circulating tumour DNA with tumour burden we aim to investigate its early dynamic change at the beginning and during antineoplastic treament until radiologic response assessment. Blood samples necessary for that are taken within the scope of clinical routine care. We hypothesize that the changes of circulating tumour DNA correlate with the radiological findings.
