Lux-Breast 3; Afatinib Alone or in Combination With Vinorelbine in Patients With Human Epidermal...
Breast NeoplasmsNeoplasm MetastasisThe aim of this study is to investigate the efficacy and safety of afatinib alone or in combination with vinorelbine, as treatment in patients with HER2-overexpressing metastatic breast cancer, who have progressive brain lesions after trastuzumab and/or lapatinib based therapy
Dexamethasone vs Placebo in the Prophylaxis of Radiation-Induced Pain Flare Following Palliative...
Bone MetastasesThis research is being done because is is not known if dexamethasone can prevent pain flare (their pain temporarily gets worse before it gets better) caused by the radiation used to treat painful bone metastases. Using dexamethasone to prevent pain like this has been studied in a few people and seems promising, but it is not clear if it can decrease the pain or prevent the pain flare before it happens.
Safety Evaluation of a Combination of Brain Radiation Therapy and Bevacizumab (Avastin®) for Treatment...
Metastatic Malignant Neoplasm to BrainThis phase I pilot study aims to define the safety of a combined treatment of bevacizumab and whole brain radiation therapy for the treatment of patients with brain metastasis of solid tumors. If this therapeutic scheme confirms it's safety profile, the investigators can expect: first, to allow that all patients can receive bevacizumab for their advanced and/or metastatic cancer if necessary, even in case of brain metastasis. Secondly, if this trial confirm a synergic effect of the combination of angiogenesis inhibitors and brain radiotherapy for local control of brain metastasis, an improvement of the therapeutic results for these patients which have a poor hope of survival and for which none innovative approach is currently suggested. Moreover, the investigators hope that the analysis of the different data of MRI evaluation - morphological and functional - will allow better definition of radiological evaluation of the therapeutic effect of angiogenesis inhibitors on brain metastasis.
A Multicenter Study Evaluating Efficacy and Safety of 177Lu-DOTA-TATE Based on Kidney-Dosimetry...
Neuroendocrine TumorsLiver MetastasesBy improved kidney dosimetry including biological effective dose and taking into account potential risk factors (especially for kidney toxicity), it might be possible to give an optimal and personalized treatment with 177Lu-DOTA-TATE to the patient with metastatic neuroendocrine tumor.
Safety, Tolerability and Pharmacokinetics of Etelcalcetide in Hemodialysis Patients With Secondary...
HyperparathyroidismSecondaryThe purpose of this study is to characterize the safety and tolerability of single rising doses of etelcalcetide in hemodialysis patients with secondary hyperparathyroidism.
Donor Umbilical Cord Blood Stem Cell Transplant in Treating Patients With Hematologic Malignancies...
Acute Myeloid Leukemia With Multilineage Dysplasia Following Myelodysplastic SyndromeAdult Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in Remission75 moreRATIONALE: Giving chemotherapy before a donor umbilical cord blood transplant (UCBT) helps stop the growth of cancer and abnormal cells and helps stop the patient's immune system from rejecting the donor's stem cells. When the stem cells from an unrelated donor, that do not exactly match the patient's blood, are infused into the patient they may help the patient's bone marrow make stem cells, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Sometimes the transplanted cells from a donor can make an immune response against the body's normal cells. Giving antithymocyte globulin before transplant and cyclosporine and mycophenolate mofetil after transplant may stop this from happening. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well donor umbilical cord blood stem cell transplant works in treating patients with hematologic malignancies.
Study of RAD001 + AMG479 for Patients With Advanced Solid Tumors
Neoplasm MetastasesThe purpose of this study is to test the safety of the combination of two drugs called RAD001 and AMG479. This study will see what effects (good and bad) RAD001 and AMG479 have on cancer. This study will also find the highest doses of RAD001 and AMG479 that can be given without causing severe side effects.
Efficacy and Safety of Alfacalcidol Compared to Calcitriol for Treatment of Secondary Hyperparathyroidism...
Secondary HyperparathyroidismEnd Stage Renal DiseaseThis study was performed to determine whether calcitriol provides a therapeutic advantage to alfacalcidol for treatment of secondary hyperparathyroidism in ESRD patients.
Study With Pazopanib in Combination With Cisplatin (CDDP) in Patients With Advanced Solid Tumors...
Solid TumorsMetastatic CancerThe aim of this research is to evaluate the potential interest of an association of Pazopanib, a multi-tyrosine kinase inhibitor, and cisplatin. As cisplatin has marketing approval for several cancers (ovarian, testicle, bladder, esophagus, endometrium, lung, stomach, head and neck cancer (HNC)), and in order to have a rapid evaluation of this combination, we will evaluate the combination in any patient whose tumors is known to be sensible to cisplatin (except tumors at risk of bleeding). This study is a classical phase 1 trial of pazopanib and 3-weekly cisplatin association. It will allow for optimal dose selection and pharmacokinetic analysis. It is planed to include around 38 patients, enriching the optimal tolerated regimen (OTR) level only with a cohort of triple negative breast cancer patients. If the association is proven to be feasible, we will then move to a specific phase II study in triple negative breast cancer patients.
Magnetic Resonance-Guided High Intensity Focused Ultrasound for Palliation of Painful Skeletal Metastases...
Bone MetastasisThis study is to confirm the safety and technical of MRI guided High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) for Palliation for Pain of Skeletal Metastases. MRI guided high intensity focused ultrasound uses ultrasound to heat and thermally ablate tissue. The MRI system identifies the ultrasound path and monitors heat rise in the tissue. The goal of the study is to show treatment safety and effectiveness. MR-guided HIFU will be performed in patients who pass inclusion/exclusion criteria.
