Impact of a Melatonin Supplementation on the Quality of Life in Elderly Metastatic Cancer Patients...

Cancer

Melatonin may represent an effective complementary treatment to standard anticancer treatments in order to reduce asthenia, depression, sleep disturbances, cognitive impairment and performance status as part of quality of life. Moreover, melatonin has been evaluated in several clinical trials in cancer patients with no side effects. It could be particularly of interest in elderly cancer patients as they exhibit a significant deficiency of melatonin production . The investigators propose to perform a prospective and randomized study to study the effect of a melatonin supplementation on the quality of life of elderly advanced/metastatic cancer patients (age ≥ 70) treated for a locally advanced or metastatic cancer.

[18F]Dabrafenib Molecular Imaging in Melanoma Brain Metastasis

Melanoma

In this feasibility study, [18F]dabrafenib will be used as radioactive tracer. All patients in this study are diagnosed with advanced melanoma with evidence of brain metastases and are eligible for treatment with dabrafenib, a specific V600-mutated BRAF inhibitor. Patients will undergo a dynamic PET scan of the brain to determine [18F]dabrafenib distribution and kinetics in brain metastases. In addition, a static total body PET scan will be performed to visualize whole body distribution and tracer uptake.

Cetuximab and/or Dasatinib in Patients With Colorectal Cancer and Liver Metastases That Can Be Removed...

Liver MetastasesMucinous Adenocarcinoma of the Colon7 more

This phase 0 trial is studying whether 2 weeks of cetuximab and dasatinib will change tumor cells in patients with colorectal cancer and liver metastases that can be removed by surgery. Monoclonal antibodies, such as cetuximab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Dasatinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.

Small Cell Lung Cancer and Breast Cancer

This study consists of two phases. The phase I study is designed to investigate the safety and tolerability of Satoreotide tetraxetan following fractionated i.v. administrations in pre-treated subjects with locally advanced or metastatic cancers expressing sstr2 as identified by Satoreotide trizoxetan Positron Emission Tomography (PET/CT) scans. This phase will encompass both radioactivity escalation and peptide mass dose evaluation. Phase II will assess the efficacy of Satoreotide tetraxetan in subjects in selected indications, in a basket design.

Efficacy and Safety of Systemic Treatments of Bone Metastases From Kidney Cancer in Patients Treated...

Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma

Multicenter, randomized, open-label, 2-arm, parallel-group, phase III study whose goal is to assess the efficacy and safety profile of bone-targeted treatments (Arm A: denosumab or zoledronic acid) versus the control arm (Arm B: no specific treatment) in patients with bone metastases under targeted therapy for Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma.

Compassionate Same-Day Evaluation & Delivery of XRT for Bony Metastasis in Hospice Patients

Symptomatic Osseous Bone Lesions From Any Malignancy

This is a survey study to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of an affordable, $400 flat rate, same-day consultation, simulation, and delivery of a single fraction of palliative radiation therapy for patients with symptomatic bony metastatic disease who are currently enrolled in hospice. Treatment planning and delivery of palliative radiotherapy will utilize "standard of care" techniques.

Deferasirox for Treating Patients Who Have Undergone Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplant and Have Iron...

Iron OverloadAccelerated Phase Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia102 more

RATIONALE: Low dose deferasirox may be safe and effective in treating patients who have undergone hematopoietic stem cell transplant and have iron overload. PURPOSE: This pilot clinical trial studies safety and tolerability of deferasirox in hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients who have iron overload. Effect of low dose deferasirox on labile plasma iron is also examined.

Novel Imaging Markers in SPMS

Secondary Progressive Multiple SclerosisMultiple Sclerosis2 more

This pilot study takes the innovative approach of using ultrasmall superparamagnetic iron oxide (USPIO) nanoparticle enhanced MRI to measure activity of the innate immune system within MS lesions. Activity of innate immunity has been hypothesized as one of the critical pathologic processes underpinning neurologic worsening in progressive MS. As such, in the short term this project proposes to investigate USPIO uptake in SPMS lesions as a promising in vivo imaging biomarker for chronic-active lesions, as distinguished from chronic-inactive lesions.
