Efficacy of Manual Therapy in Migraine
MIGRAINEObjective: The aim of this study was to determine the efficacy of suboccipital inhibitory manual therapy treatment in migraine compared to treatment based on Myofascial Trigger Points (MTrPs) and their stretching, often being hypersensitive in patients with migraine. Material and methods: 27 patients in two groups participated in the study: a) the control group received combined techniques based on MTrPs and bilateral stretching in the trapezius and sternocleidomastoid muscle (SCM); b) the experimental group was applied the same techniques as those applied in the control group plus suboccipital inhibition. The treatment lasted for 8 weeks and the impact, disability and quality of life were assessed in both groups.
Intravenous Metoclopramide in the Acute Treatment of Migraine: A Double-blind, Randomized, Placebo-controlled...
Migraine DisordersMigraine attacks were frequently diagnosed in the emergency departments. Also intravenous metoclopramide was a commonly used drug in the acute abortive treatment of migraine. However, the role of metoclopramide was based on three randomized, placebo-controlled studies, which were carried out with relatively few patients. Those trials suggested that metoclopramide produced larger improvements in visual analog scale (VAS) scores, however they revealed conflicting results and had significant methodological problems (risk of bias, allocation of concealment, intention-to-treat analysis). The investigators aimed to analyse the effects of intravenous metoclopramide in acute migraine attacks comparing with placebo.
DFN-02 Open Label Safety Study in Patients With Acute Migraine
Acute MigraineA multi-center, open-label, safety study of DFN-02 for the Treatment of Acute Migraines
Exercise in Migraine and Co-existing Tension-type Headache and Neck Pain
MigraineTension-type Headache1 moreThe purpose of this study is to study the effect of a physical exercise program on patients suffering from migraine and co-existing tension-type headache and neck pain. The investigators hypothesized that migraine patients are ofte physically inactive because of their headache and that they will benefit from a specific exercise program.
Intranasal Cooling for Cluster Headache and Migraine
MigraineCluster HeadacheThis study will be looking at the clinical efficacy of using a intranasal evaporative cooling device in providing relief of the symptoms of migraine and cluster headache. It will involve using a nasal catheter to spray a liquid coolant into the nasal cavity where it evaporates and removes heat from the tissue, thereby cooling the tissue and the blood vessels which supply blood to the brain. This cooling effect will cause the blood vessels to constrict and it is thought that this may provide symptomatic relief in both these forms of headache. 10 migraine patients and 5 cluster headache patients will be enrolled in the study and will receive 10 treatments each, for a maximum of 20 minutes at a time. They will be monitored during the treatment and for two hours afterwards to assess headache severity and side effects. There will be a further follow up 2 months after the last treatment to assess for longer term side effects from the treatment.

Eletriptan for the Treatment of Migraine in Patients With Previous Poor Response or Tolerance to...
Migraine With or Without AuraTo determine the tolerability and efficacy of eletriptan in patients who had discontinued oral sumatriptan due to lack of efficacy or intolerable adverse events (AEs) during previous clinical treatment (not a controlled trial).
One-Day Intervention for Depression and Impairment in Migraine Patients
MigraineDepressionThe purpose of this research study is to examine whether a one-day group workshop, integrating principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Migraine Education, will result in greater improvements in depressive symptoms and functioning impairment in patients with comorbid migraine and depression than a similar one-day group workshop with Migraine Education only.
