The purpose of this study is to determine whether C-Reactive Protein (CRP) is elevated in patients with active migraine headaches. Secondary goal is to determine whether other inflammatory markers, such as Calcitonin Gene Peptide (CGRP), Vasoactive Intestinal Polypeptide (VIP) or Substance P (SP) are elevated in patients having a migraine headache.

Acute Migraine attacks can be related to vascular or coagulation activation. Previous studies found relative high incidence of prothrombotic events in Migraine. The present study intends to assess the coagulation system and activation in patients with Migraine during steady state phase and at the beginning of attacks and after 72 hours. Stroke-like migraine attacks after radiation therapy-also known as SMART syndrome-constitute a rare condition typically characterized by headache, seizures, vision abnormalities, hemiparesis, and aphasia. The condition usually resolves within a few days or weeks of onset with no residual impairments. However, resolution in some cases extends over a period of months rather than weeks and may be incomplete. The purpose of this case report is to provide an in-depth description of the progression of changes in cognitive and language functioning for a person exhibiting SMART syndrome characterized by slow recovery.
