Treximet Trademark (TM) in the Prevention and Modification of Disease Progression in Migraine

Migraine

This study is being conducted to evaluate the hypothesis that use of pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions may allow subjects at high risk for chronic migraine to avoid or reverse the transformation of episodic migraine to chronic migraine.

Neurostimulation Device for Treatment of Migraine Headache

Migraine Headache

This is a prospective, non-randomized and unblinded study designed to generate preliminary data to assess the effect of a new portable non-invasive brainstem stimulator to treat migraine headaches in patients with episodic migraine headaches.

Efficacy and Safety Study of BOTOX® Compared to Topiramate for the Prevention of Chronic Migraine...

Migraine Disorders

This study will evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of prophylactic (preventative) treatment with BOTOX® (onabotulinumtoxinA) compared to topiramate in adults with chronic migraine.

Efficacy and Safety of TMS for the Preemptive Treatment of Migraine With Aura

Migraine With Aura

Assess safety and efficacy of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) for the treatment of migraine with aura The hypothesis is that TMS treatments delivered to the occipital cortex of the brain can stop or interrupt the spreading cortical brain activity that causes or contributes to the migraine headache. Two TMS treatments at an intensity of <1 Tesla for ~500 microseconds, approximately 30 seconds apart, may stop the aura and prevent the subsequent headache.

Pilot Study to Compare Frovatriptan vs. Topiramate for Prevention of Migraine

Migraine

Subjects enrolled at 2 investigative sites will complete 3 visits. Following Visit 1, during a 1-month Baseline Period, subjects will treat with their usual medication and document any warning signs (Prodrome pre-headache) that a migraine will occur. Following randomization (like a flip of the coin) at Visit 2, subjects will treat daily with topiramate or during Prodrome with frovatriptan. Subjects complete a 2-month Treatment Period before exit at Visit 3.This study will compare the effectiveness of daily treatment vs. treatment during the pre-headache phase for prevention of migraine.

Dysport® In Migraine Without Aura Prophylaxis : DIMWAP Study

Migraine Without Aura Prophylaxis

The purpose of this study is to determine whether 120 Unit, and 240 unit of botulinum toxin A are effective in the treatment of migraine without aura prophylaxis.

An Open Label Extension of a Study of Topiramate in Chronic Migraine.

Migraine

The purpose of this study is to assess the long-term safety and effectiveness of topiramate for the prevention of headaches in adults with chronic migraine. Topiramate has been approved to prevent migraine headaches.

Experimental Headache Induced by Vasoactive Intestinal Polypeptide

Healthy VolunteersHeadache5 more

We hypothesized that infusion of VIP may induce headache in healthy subjects and that VIP induced headache may be associated with dilatation of intra- and extracerebral blood vessels. To test this hypothesis, we performed a double blind placebo controlled crossover study in normal human volunteers and studied the effect on headache and cerebral as well as hemodynamic parameters.

Use Of GW274150 In The Prophylactic Treatment Of Migraine

Migraine Disorders

Nitric oxide (NO) is likely to be involved in the development of migraine headache. Nitric oxide synthase (NOS) is an important chemical involved in the production of NO. Reduction of NOS, and therefore NO, may be an effective technique for the prevention of migraine headache. GW274150 is a highly selective inhibitor of NOS and offers the potential of anti-inflammatory activity in migraine through a novel mechanism of action. The intent of this study is to investigate the safety and efficacy of GW274150 for the prophylactic treatment of migraine headache.
