Beating Versus Arrested Heart for Mitral Valve Replacement
Mitral StenosisMitral InsufficiencyThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the immediately clinic and ultramicroscopic myocardial cellular ischemia and reperfusion to replace of the mitral valve using arrested heart versus on-pump empty beating heart surgical techniques.
Genomic Investigation of Cardiovascular Diseases
Coronary Artery DiseaseMyocardial Infarction4 moreThis proposal puts forward a research plan to initiate a genetic databank, henceforth referred to as The Genebank at Scripps Clinic Registry. This database will usher in genomic research at Scripps as we strive to stay at the forefront of cardiovascular research in the new century. Human subject donation allows for the creation of the proposed genebank.
Comparing the Effectiveness of Repairing Versus Replacing the Heart's Mitral Valve in People With...
Mitral Valve InsufficiencyCoronary Artery DiseasePeople with coronary artery disease (CAD) or people who have had a heart attack may develop a leak in the mitral valve of their heart and may therefore need to undergo surgery to fix the valve. The best way to fix the mitral valve remains undetermined. This study will evaluate whether it is better for people with severe mitral valve leakage to undergo a mitral valve replacement procedure or a mitral valve repair procedure.
CG Future® Annuloplasty Ring/Band Clinical Trial
Mitral Valve InsufficiencyThe primary goal of the study is to document the number of patients that are successfully implanted and benefit from the implantation of both a CG Future Annuloplasty ring or a band.
CARDINAL Adjustable Annuloplasty Ring System For Treatment of Mitral Regurgitation
Mitral Valve InsufficiencyAnnuloplasty device for repair of mitral valve regurgitation with option to adjust device post implant off pump, to optimize correction of mitral regurgitation. Unlike conventional annuloplasty ring, the Cardinal system offers the clinician the opportunity to make adjustments after weaning from cardiopulmonary bypass. Adjustability is expected to reduce the number of patients leaving the operating room with residual regurgitation after mitral valve repair.
Incidence of Significant Mitral Regurgitation in Acute Heart Failure Patients
Acute Heart FailureMitral RegurgitationThe purpose of this study is to determine the prevalence of moderate-to-severe Mitral Regurgitation (MR) in acute Heart Failure (HF) patients requiring hospital admission.
Safety and Performance of the AccuCinch® System
Heart FailureMitral Valve InsufficiencyThis is a single-arm, multi-center, open-label controlled study that will assess the safety and performance of the Accucinch System to induce left ventricular reverse remodeling and reduce the severity of functional mitral regurgitation in symptomatic adult patients with mitral regurgitation and left ventricular remodeling due to dilated cardiomyopathy (ischemic or non-ischemic etiology), who are of high operative risk.
Feasibility Study of Patients With Severe MR Treated With the Cardiovalve TMVR System
Mitral RegurgitationThe study will test the safety and performance of the Cardiovalve transfemoral mitral valve replacement system in treating patients with severe mitral regurgitation who are at high risk for open chest surgery. The system is comprised of comprised of: 1) an Implant; 2) a Delivery System (DS); and 3) Accessories that are required for the implantation procedure. the procedure is performed under general anesthesia.
Effects of Mitral Valve Repair With the Geoform Ring on Cardiomyopathy
Mitral Valve RegurgitationCongestive Heart Failure1 moreThe primary aim of this study is to assess the changes on the shape and function of the left ventricle in patients with severe mitral valve regurgitation due to congestive heart failure and cardiomyopathy who undergo mitral valve reconstruction with a Geoform ring. Three-dimensional echocardiogram will be used for precise evaluation of the shape and function of the ventricle.
Early Feasibility Study of the CardiAQ™ TMVI System (Transfemoral and Transapical DS)
Mitral InsufficiencyHeart Valve Disease2 moreThe purpose of the study is to generate early US feasibility data of the CardiAQ™ Transcatheter Mitral Valve Implant System. The study will enroll patients with moderate to severe mitral valve regurgitation who are considered high risk for mortality and morbidity from conventional open-heart surgery.
