A Study Utilizing Escitalopram in Glioma Patients

Glioma of BrainGlioma

This pilot study will include grade IV glioma patients treated with SSRIs during approximately a 17 week study period. Changes in cognition and evaluation of psychosocial factors from baseline to after 17 weeks of treatment with SSRI study drug will be calculated.

MRI in High-Grade Glioma Patients Undergoing Chemoradiation

High Grade Glioma

The purpose of this research study is to see if investigators can predict how brain functioning changes after radiation treatment based on PET scans and blood tests. Most participants experience at least mild decreases in their memory or attention after radiation therapy. Investigators hope that PET scans, lumbar puncture, and blood tests might help investigators predict who might have larger changes in their brain function after radiation.

Intraoperative Sonographically Guided Resection of Non-enhancing Gliomas

Non-enhancing Cerebral Gliomas

The purpose of the study is to determine whether intraoperative ultrasound guided resection of glioma without contrast enhancement in magnetic resonance imaging can achieve higher extent of resection than surgery without intraoperative sonography

Concurrent Fluorescence and Sonographically Guided Eradication of Contrast-enhancing Gliomas and...

GliomaMalignant1 more

Objective of the study is to determine whether combined use of intraoperative fluorescence with 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) and sonography can achieve higher rate of gross total resection of contrast-enhancing gliomas and brain metastases compared to intraoperative fluorescence with 5-ALA alone.

Re-Irradiation of Progressive or Recurrent DIPG

Recurrent or Progressive Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma

This is a single-arm, non-randomized study of re-irradiation of diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG)

Hyperpolarized Carbon-13 Alpha-ketoglutarate Imaging in IDH Mutant Glioma

Adult GliomasMixed

This study will investigate the use of hyperpolarized (HP) carbon-13 (13C) alpha-ketoglutarate (aKG) (HP 13C-aKG) to characterize tumor burden in patients with isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) mutant glioma.

Implantable Microdevice In Primary Brain Tumors

Grade II GliomaGrade III Glioma6 more

This pilot study will assess the safety and feasibility of using an implantable microdevice to measure local intratumor response to chemotherapy and other clinically relevant drugs in malignant brain tumors. The device involved in this study is called a microdevice. The drugs used in this study will only include drugs already used systemically for the treatment of gliomas.

Tumor Hypoxia and Proliferation in Patients With High-Grade Glioma

Glioma

This is a pilot study to assess a new methodology developed for High Grade Glioma (HGG). FMISO PET (Fluoromisonidazole-PET) allows researchers to study whether tumor cells lack oxygen (hypoxia). FLT PET (Fluorodeoxythymidine-PET) allows researchers to study the increase in the number of cells as a result of cell growth and cell division (proliferation). Tumors that have low oxygen levels and/or are dividing fast shall resist to standard cancer treatment. The study will compare FMISO PET and FLT PET imaging techniques with molecular biomarkers of hypoxia, angiogenesis, and cellular proliferation in tissue. proliferation). This information could help researchers develop new treatment techniques to better treat cancer.

[18F] FDOPA PET Imaging in Glioma: Feasibility Study for PET Guided Brain Biopsy

Glioma

[18F]fluorodopa (3, 4-dihydroxy-6-[18F]fluoro-L-phenylalanine/ FDOPA) is an amino acid PET tracer originally developed for brain imaging in patients with movement disorders but has been found to be useful in brain tumour imaging. [18F]fluorodopa has been demonstrated to be predominantly transported by the L-type amino acid transporter without significant uptake into surrounding normal brain parenchyma with the exception of the basal ganglia. Assessing the feasibility of performing PET guided histopathology in a single and multi-site setting will be crucial in order to use PET as a planning tool for brain biopsy to detect high-grade transformation in low-grade gliomas.

Targeted Therapy Directed by Genetic Testing in Treating Pediatric Patients With Relapsed or Refractory...

Advanced Malignant Solid NeoplasmAnn Arbor Stage III Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma43 more

This Pediatric MATCH screening and multi-sub-study phase II trial studies how well treatment that is directed by genetic testing works in pediatric patients with solid tumors, non-Hodgkin lymphomas, or histiocytic disorders that have progressed following at least one line of standard systemic therapy and/or for which no standard treatment exists that has been shown to prolong survival. Genetic tests look at the unique genetic material (genes) of patients' tumor cells. Patients with genetic changes or abnormalities (mutations) may benefit more from treatment which targets their tumor's particular genetic mutation, and may help doctors plan better treatment for patients with solid tumors or non-Hodgkin lymphomas.
