Exploring Buckwheat's Glucose Lowering Potential
Type 2 DiabetesBioactive components in buckwheat enhance insulin sensitivity in Type 2 diabetes by improving glucose uptake and utilization through a unique mechanism that operates independent of insulin.
DIALOOG: Crestor in Patients With Diabetes Mellitus Type 2: Lowering of LDL-C Levels to New European...
Diabetes Mellitus Type 2Crestor3 moreThe purpose of this study is to determine in DM II patients the efficacy of Crestor in obtaining the new European LDL cholesterol guidelines.
Type 2 Diabetes Controlled Eating Experiment
Type 2 Diabetes MellitusA short-term feeding study in type 2 diabetics manipulating the fat and caloric values of meals to assess both compensation and glucose control, both covertly and overtly.
Risk of Hypoglycemia in Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 DiabetesThe aim of this study is to establish the risk and frequency of non-symptomatic hypoglycemia in type 2 diabetes under previous therapy with glibenclamide. Participants will be monitored via a continuous glucose monitoring system in a standardized clinical setting during day and night time, implementing meals and exercise of moderate intensity performed in the postprandial state.
Diabetes and Cardiovascular Risk In Mexico City (San Antonio Heart Study)
Cardiovascular DiseasesHeart Diseases3 moreTo determine factors beyond obesity which contribute to diabetes and cardiovascular risk in Mexicans and Mexican Americans. To test the hypothesis that at any given level of adiposity Mexican Americans will be more insulin resistant than Anglos and that the insulin resistance in Mexican Americans is proportional to the degree of Native American ancestry.
Sleep Apnea in Look AHEAD Participants - Ancillary to Look AHEAD
Sleep Apnea SyndromesDiabetes Mellitus3 moreTo assess the effects of weight loss on sleep disordered breathing in obese, Type 2 diabetics with obstructive sleep apnea.
Dyslipidemia and Risk of Cardiovascular Disease in Diabetic Men and Women
Cardiovascular DiseasesDiabetes Mellitus4 moreTo determine the role of dyslipidemia, markers of endothelial dysfunction genetic susceptibility, and dietary fat intake on the development of cardiovascular disease (CVD) complications in Type II diabetes mellitus.
Epidemiology of Cardiovascular Disease in Diabetes
Cardiovascular DiseasesDiabetes Mellitus4 moreTo locate and identify genes contributing to the genetic component of subclinical cardiovascular disease (CVD) in Type 2 diabetes and to evaluate the impact of lifestyle and environment on the expression of these genetic components of subclinical CVD.
A Feasibility Study of a 12 Week Training Intervention With Patients With Type 2 Diabetes and MODY...
Type 2 DiabetesMODYThe goal of this study is to investigate to what extent a 12-week training course for people with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) or MODY can be conducted in a clinical context with clinically relevant improvements in cardiometabolic risk factors and quality of life? The main questions it aims to answer are: To investigate the feasibility of supervised training for people with T2DM or MODY in a clinical context in Greenland. To investigate evidence of the effect of combined aerobic and strength training on cardiometabolic risk factors and mental well-being. To investigate the signs of efficacy and different interactions with the type of disease.
Arterial Stiffness in Type 2 Diabetic Patients With Severe Periodontitis
Coronary Heart DiseaseDiabetes Mellitus3 moreStudies were found that a significant relationship between the severe periodontitis and increased CAVI values. While the exact mechanisms linking periodontitis, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease are not yet fully understood, it is clear that these diseases are interconnected. There are limited data in the literature evaluating the risk of atherosclerosis in diabetic individuals with periodontal disease. In our survey, we hypothesised that severe periodontitis may be a risk factor for the development of subclinical atherosclerosis among people with type 2 diabetes. Thus, we aimed to investigate the potential risk of subclinical atherosclerosis by using a new surrogate marker CAVI in severe periodontitis patients with short-term diabetes.
