Feel Breathe, Restriction Device Ventilatory Nasal
Mouth BreathingRestrictive Breathing PatternIt has patented a restriction and filtering device ventilatory nasal flow FeelBreathe with the aim of increase nasal airflow resistance, therefore the objective was to examine the effects of FeelBreathe with lung ventilation and gas exchange during exercise.
Myofunctionnal Therapy on Nasal Breathing and Orthodontic Corrections Stability
Mouth BreathingAtypic Swallowing1 moreThe current research project aims to study the efficacy of myofunctional therapy and its orthodontic long-term outcomes.
Usability of a Breathing-CBT Platform (CBT = Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)
BreathingMouthThe study will examine the usability of a breathing platform in the home environment. It will be a randomized, open-label crossover study of 10 participants who will complete the CBT and breathing components in their home, prior to sleeping. Usability will be measured by scores assigned by participants. Qualitative feedback and compliance information will also be collected.
Mouth Breathing Habits Improvement Intervention
OSAThis study intends to investigate the improvement in patients with OSA through objective measurement, including oxygen desaturation index (ODI) and the percentage reduction in intermittent mouth puffing (IMP) before and after the intervention. The oral appliances are placed between the tongue and the soft palate to reduce the oral ventilation space. A total of 24 participants aged between 36 and 57 years were identified with ODI above 5 events/hour by measuring their blood oxygen and with an originally designed mouth puffing detector to find out those who were still mouth-puffed when their mouths were taped. A suitable appliance was chosen for the participants between the two originally designed oral appliances, tongue pressed device (TPD) and tongue elevated device (TED), and the intervention lasted for six weeks.
Effects of Breathing Exercises on Reaction Time
BreathingMouthThe aim of the study was to investigate the short and long-term effects of breathing exercises on reaction time.
Jaw Clenching on Anaerobic Ability and Ventilatory Flows
Mouth BreathingThe latest findings on the ergogenic effects of a dentistry-design, bite-aligning mouthpiece require additional research to assess its impact on anaerobic ability and ventilatory parameters. This study was aimed at determining the ergogenic acute effects of wearing a custom-made mouthpiece on oral airflow dynamics, Wingate Test performance parameters.
Influence of Mouth Breathing on Periodontal Healing
Chronic PeriodontitisStudies reveal association between dry conditions and decreased healing in wounds or any treatment. From these studies, it can be hypothesized that healing in mouth breathers after scaling and root planing in terms of bleeding on probing, gingival index, plaque Index, clinical attachment level, probing depth may not show as much improvement as in case of nose breathers. No study has been conducted till date to find effect of scaling and root planing in periodontitis patients among mouth breathers and nose breathers.
Comparing Nose & Mouth Breathing During Exercise
HealthyThe purpose of this study is to compare physiological responses in cardiovascular variables between nose and mouth breathing at rest and during exercise.
Impact of Physical Therapy Program in Mouthbreathing Children After Adenotonsillectomy
Mouth BreathingMB Children maintains the same postural pattern in preoperative and postoperative adenotonsillectomy? The age influences the incidence of more exacerbated postural changes? The proposed early physiotherapy intervention can minimize future functional deficits? Trying to answer some of these questions, the objective of present study is to investigate the initial kinematics of the shoulder girdle, cervical and thoracic spine in MB children pre and post adenotonsillectomy and then evaluate the effects of a physical therapy intervention program for MB children who persisted with postural changes.
Posture and Pulmonary Function of Mouth-breathing Children
Mouth BreathingThe purpose of this study is to characterize the posture and respiratory function of mouth-breathing children.
