Imaging Evaluation of Central Nervous Autoimmune Diseases

MS (Multiple Sclerosis)NMO Spectrum Disorder

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is the most common demyelinating disease of the central nervous system and the most common cause of non traumatic disability in young and middle-aged people. Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disease (nmosd) is an independent disease different from Ms. the pathogenesis and the mode of brain and spinal cord injury are different from MS, and the prognosis and optimal treatment are different. It is difficult to distinguish the two diseases in the early stage. Early diagnosis and treatment of the two diseases can greatly improve the quality of life of patients. Therefore, it is an urgent problem to clarify the difference between MS and nmosd injury patterns and to find sensitive imaging markers for early clinical intervention. With the continuous progress of computer aided diagnosis (CAD), it is more and more widely used in medicine, which is expected to help solve the above problems. The purpose of this study is to create a neuroimmune disease evaluation database based on image data. By combining brain and spinal cord imaging, and based on Zhang quantum space learning computer-aided technology, we can achieve accurate segmentation of MS and nmosd brain and spinal cord lesions, analyze the evolution characteristics of the disease at different time points, and screen the imaging indexes related to clinical scores combined with clinical and laboratory indexes Objective: to determine the different prognosis and its influencing factors at the clinical, imaging and molecular levels, and establish the model for predicting disease progression and prognosis, so as to provide the basis for early identification and assistance in guiding treatment and judging prognosis. Clinical information was collected: age, gender, course of disease, MMSE, EDSS disability score, nine hole test, 25 foot walking test. Assess the patient's information processing ability. Blood samples were collected. Imaging examination was performed. The patients were followed up regularly.

Immune Response to COVID-19 Vaccine in Multiple Sclerosis Patients Treated With Teriflunomide and...

Multiple Sclerosis

Phase IV, 3-armed, prospective, open-label, single-center, Israeli study, examining the response to SARS-CoV-2 vaccination in 30 teriflunomide-, 10 alemtuzumab-treated patients, and 30 age-matched (for the teriflunomide group) untreated MS patients. Treatments will be administered according to common local practice. Demographic, clinical, treatment-related and COVID-19-related data will be collected. Blood samples will be drawn for each participant at baseline (before COVID-19 vaccination), and at 1, 3, 6, (and possibly 12) months post 2nd dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Humoral, B-cell and T-cell responses will be evaluated.

Multicenter Observational Study for the Evaluation in Clinical Practice of Urinary Disorders in...

Multiple SclerosisUrinary Bladder1 more

The major part of people with multiple sclerosis (pwMS) experiences Low Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS) secondary to neurogenic Low Urinary Tract Dysfunctions (n-LUTDs) during the course of MS, reaching almost 100% after about 10 years. N-LUTDs represent an important issue for pwMS, especially for their negative impact on Quality of Life (QoL), as they are mainly youngs in the prime of their life. Moreover n-LUTDs can lead to serious complications on the urinary tract as infections or renal failure. Therefore, the neurologist in daily clinical practice must intercept the possible presence of LUTS as soon as possible so that he can promptly initiate optimal management. To do this, it is essential to provide neurologists with validated, reproducible and sensitive tools that are, above all, easy to use in an outpatient setting. Our clinical research seeks, for the first time, to show whether pwMS get any improvement after the initial LUTS management, whether this improvement, if any, is related to the professional figure takes care about LUTS (neurologist vs urologist) and if there is an objective improvement of voiding performances on standardized measures.

Hypnosis and Direct Autonomic Experience Influence on Chronic Symptoms

Restless Legs SyndromeMultiple Sclerosis4 more

Study will look at a limited number of participants with various chronic symptoms. Investigating a new and novel form of hypnosis application called "Direct Autonomic Experience (DAX)" which is using combination of visualization, metaphor, post-hypnotic suggestion and anchoring. Purpose is to confirm that DAX generally appears to impact SUDS value and subjects report observed level of effect on short and longer term measurements. Most significantly, testing that DAX technique/action is reusable later if the measured SUDS value returns or increases.

Multiple Sclerosis

Mobility problems in multiple sclerosis (MS) is a frequent symptom. It might appear in almost 93% of patients in the first 15 years of the disease, being a clear problem for their normal living. Nevertheless, therapeutic options for this symptom are few and optimal for only some patients.

The Effects of Aerobics Training on Balance in Patients With Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple SclerosisRelapsing-Remitting

Standing Balance, with and without blindfold, will be measured on patients with Multiple Sclerosis using a Biodex Balance Scale. A Twelve week intervention with one non impact aerobics group and one control group will be performed. Standing balance will then be retested on all subjects and the results will be statistically compared.
