Inflammatory Cytokines in Symptom Production in Multiple Myeloma

Multiple Myeloma

The goal of this research study is to learn about the pain and/or other symptoms that patients may experience either while you are being monitored by your doctor before a decision is made to start you on treatment for your MM, or during and after treatment for MM, and how these symptoms may affect therapy. A second goal is to learn how differences in genes may affect the symptom burden from cancer and cancer therapy.

Non-Myeloablative Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation With Matched Unrelated Donors for Treatment...

Acute Myeloid LeukemiaMyelodysplasia9 more

The primary objective of this study is to examine transplant related mortality (TRM) at 100 days <30%. A TRM of >50% is considered unacceptable. This study also seeks a TRM at 12 months that is <50%, engraftment >90% (defined as donor cells >80% at 6 months), and 1 year overall survival >50%.

Investigation of the Cylex® ImmuKnow® Assay

LeukemiaNon-Hodgkin's Lymphoma7 more

Currently, there is no accurate way of predicting the occurrence of Graft vs Host Disease (GvHD) or infection. The purpose of this study is to analyze blood with the ImmuKnow® Assay to see if doctors can detect which patients are at risk for GvHD and for getting an infection before they occur.

A Disease Registry Encompassing the Care Of Patients With Multiple Myeloma on Panobinostat

Multiple Myeloma

This study aims to describe current treatment patterns in the real-world setting among patients with multiple myeloma who are initiating treatment with (or changing treatment to) panobinostat and explore the associations with baseline patient characteristics, healthcare resource utilization, and clinical outcomes.

Development of a Standardized Reference Guide for Tuning Adherence to Dispense During a Initial...

Multiple Myeloma

The hypothesis is that the implementation of an initial Pharmaceutical Consultation (PC) program based on the provision of standardized information to patients treated for multiple myeloma as a first course of chemotherapy, could optimize their compliance with the delivered per os treatment. The aim of this study is therefore to develop a standardised reference guide of information to be provided during prostate cancer in order to optimise the compliance of patients treated for multiple myeloma as a first course of chemotherapy per os.

Myeloma Treatment in Real Life

Multiple Myeloma

As part of an oral treatment regimen in ambulatory practice, certain uses in connection with drug consumption associated could alter treatment outcomes observed in randomized clinical trials. The increase in progression-free survival in myeloma may be accompanied by an impaired quality of life and a resurgence of pain symptoms over time, which could potentially lead to medication overuse involving painkillers but also psychotropic drugs. These combined consumption may affect survival through mechanisms of pharmacological or non-pharmacological interactions. As part of this project, we wish to explore the scheme of adherence to myeloma drugs, and thus validate the decision diagram of hypothesis of not adequate of drug use in ambulatory conditions, from observational data. This discrepancy could result from poor adherence or suboptimal drug use but also from concomitant exposures to other drugs which may interact with myeloma. Before considering a study of greater magnitude that could address the consequences of non optimal drug use on clinical response criteria, such as duration of response or survival, it seems appropriate to confirm these assumptions within ' an exploratory study.

eHealth for the Elderly

Multiple Myeloma

Since internet usage as a complementing element in cancer care is becoming more and more important in oncological routine we launched My-eStEPs (eHealth Strategy for Elderly Patients with Multiple Myeloma) to investigate how specifically elderly patients and their Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) adopt electronic Health (eHealth) support during outpatient treatment. The purpose of this project is to explore how eHealth support influences patients' interaction with their HCPs and how both can benefit from this.

Assessment of Mobilization Cost for Multiple Myeloma Using 2 Different Mobilization Strategies

Multiple MyelomaBlood Stem Cell Transplant Failure

This is a retrospective observational cohort database analysis. The study will review retrospectively the records of patients undergoing a first peripheral blood stem cell mobilization for multiple myeloma in the databases from approximately 15 hospitals which are part of the IFM collaborative group. Patient records will be divided into two groups of 50 patients minimum, maximum 100 patients or up to the number of patient records that could be extracted. The first group of patients will have received plerixafor plus G-CSF without the administration of chemotherapy as a mobilization strategy and a second group of patients will have received cyclophosphamide plus G-CSF as a mobilization strategy. All consecutive patients with complete set of data (and who underwent apheresis) treated between 2009 and 2013 with G-CSF and plerixafor and all consecutive patients with complete data (and who underwent apheresis) treated between 2009 and 2013 with G-CSF and cyclophosphamide will be included. All data that will be analyzed will be extracted from the selected IFM institutions which are located in France.

A Safety and Efficacy of Pomalyst® Capsules Under the Actual Use in All Patients Who Are Treated...

Multiple Myeloma

Planned enrollment period One year (The planned number of patients to be enrolled is set to 400 patients.) Since all patients who are prescribed with Pomalyst are registered in RevMate®, enrollment using the Registration Form of the surveillance will be completed at the time when the planned number of patients to be enrolled is reached. During a period until conditions for approval are removed, a system enabling to retrospectively collect appropriate information based on patient data from RevMate® will be, as necessary, maintained. Planned duration of the surveillance Anticipated to be 2 years and 6 months from the start date of release of Pomalyst
