A Study To Evaluate Safety And Efficacy Of Ocrelizumab In Comparison With Fingolimod In Children...
Relapsing-Remitting Multiple SclerosisThis double-blind, double-dummy study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of ocrelizumab compared with fingolimod in children and adolescents with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis aged between 10 and < 18 years over a duration of at least 96 weeks.
A Teleheath tDCS Approach to Decrease Cannabis Use
Cannabis Use DisorderMultiple SclerosisThe study aims to evaluate the effect of Dorsolateral Prefrontal Cortex (DLPFC) Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) in decreasing distress and cannabis use. 46 participants with Relapse Remitting Multiple Sclerosis (RRMS), Cannabis Use Disorder (CUD) and elevated distress (K10 score of 10-35) will be recruited.
Cannabis as a Complementary Treatment in Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple SclerosisMultiple sclerosis (MS) is an inflammatory disease of the central nervous system (CNS) afflicting over 77,000 Canadians. Unfortunately, the therapeutic arsenal to relieve MS symptoms is limited. It is therefore essential to develop better approaches to treat the symptoms of MS. The use of cannabis for recreational purposes is now legal in Canada. However, for many years, people with Multiple Sclerosis (PwMS) have used cannabis either to relax, to reduce pain and spasticity, or to improve sleep and daily functioning. Currently, there is little scientifically established evidence that cannabis works on these symptoms in people with MS. It is therefore important to carry out studies to better understand the efficacy Δ-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), and cannabidiol (CBD) on MS symptoms . THC is known for its analgesic, neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory properties and CBD seems to have positive effects on anxiety and cognitive abilities (memory, concentration). For this study, investigators hypothesize that administering different doses of THC alone, CBD alone, and THC and CBD combined will result in a significant beneficial effect on spasticity relief compared to placebo.
Study to Assess the Effect of Ofatumumab in Treatment Naïve, Very Early RRMS Patients Benchmarked...
Relapse Remitting Multiple SclerosisThis study will evaluate the impact of ofatumumab in Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis (RRMS) participants that are very early in the course of their disease using clinical and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) outcomes. The study will also assess changes in disease using monitoring techniques including digital biometric device use, biomarker analysis and non-conventional MRI. Select outcomes in the ofatumumab treated group will be compared to a group of Healthy participants to determine if there are similarities between the groups after the patients with MS undergo treatment with ofatumumab.
Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of Fenebrutinib Compared With Teriflunomide in Relapsing...
Relapsing Multiple SclerosisA study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of fenebrutinib on disability progression and relapse rate in adult participants with RMS. Eligible participants will be randomized 1:1 to either fenebrutinib or teriflunomide. Open-Label Extension (OLE) phase is contingent on a positive benefit-risk result in the Primary Analysis of the study.
Intrathecal Administration of DUOC-01 in Adults With Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis
Primary Progressive Multiple SclerosisThis study is a prospective Phase 1a open-label single- center trial. It will assess the safety of intrathecal administration of DUOC-01 cells to adults with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (PPMS). DUOC-01 is a population of cells expanded from donated human umbilical cord blood cells and is intended for treatment of neurodegenerative and demyelinating diseases. There will be approximately 20 participants enrolled. Exploratory objectives include changes in MS assessment scores, changes in brain MRI findings, and changes in blood biomarkers.
Technology-assisted Conscientiousness Therapy for People With Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple SclerosisThis is a validation study of a conscientiousness-based phone app intervention strategy to help people with their health management and employment.
Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (PPMS) Study of Bruton's Tyrosine Kinase (BTK) Inhibitor...
Primary Progressive Multiple SclerosisPrimary Objective: To determine the efficacy of SAR442168 compared to placebo in delaying disability progression in primary progressive multiple sclerosis (PPMS) Secondary Objectives: To evaluate efficacy of SAR442168 compared to placebo on clinical endpoints, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) lesions, cognitive performance, physical function, and quality of life To evaluate safety and tolerability of SAR442168 To evaluate population pharmacokinetics (PK) of SAR442168 in PPMS and its relationship to efficacy and safety To evaluate pharmacodynamics of SAR442168
MitoQ for Fatigue in Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Multiple SclerosisFatigueThe purpose of this study is to determine whether MS patients who receive Oral mitoquinone (MitoQ) have less fatigue than those receiving a placebo. A comparison between patient's fatigue scored at baseline and fatigue scored 12 weeks after drug initiation will assess if MitoQ has a significant change in fatigue.
High-Intensity, Dynamic-stability Gait Training in People With Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple SclerosisThe goal of this clinical trial is to improve walking speed, balance, and walking in the community for people with multiple sclerosis. This trial involves intense exercise combined with walking on a shaky treadmill. Walking on a shaky treadmill helps to practice balance and intense exercise promotes the ability to walk faster and farther. In this study, participants will train with a combination of high or low intensity, and with a stable or shaky treadmill. Walking speed and endurance, balance while walking and the number of steps taken in the community will be measured before, half way through the training (15 sessions), after training (30 sessions) and six months after training.
