Reduced Oligodendrocyte-specific Cytotoxicity and Ofatumumab Treatment

Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis

In this study the investigators wish to test the hypothesis that the repertoire of solutes secreted by leukocytes isolated from patients with relapsing-remitting forms of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) following 6 months of treatment with Ofatumumab (Kesimpta®) will be less toxic to mouse-derived oligodendrocyte lineage cells, grown in a dish, than solutes secreted by the same leukocyte populations prior to treatment with Ofatumumab.

Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus Type 2 (SARS-CoV-2)-Related Multiple Sclerosis (MS)...

Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

The primary objective of this study is to document immunization status of MS participants after SARS-CoV-2-vaccinations and to evaluate possible effects of disease modifying therapy (DMTs) on the immune status. The secondary objectives of the study are to document longevity of immunization status of MS participants after SARS-Cov-2-vaccinations and to evaluate possible effects of DMTs on the immune status, to assess anti SARS-CoV-2 antibody titers regarding amount and persistence, to document immunization status of MS participants after repeated SARS-Cov-2-vaccinations and to evaluate possible effects of DMTs on the immune status, to document vaccine types used in MS population in Germany and to describe tolerability of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines according to participant's assessment.

Digital Cognitive-behavioral Therapy for Insomnia for Patients With Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple SclerosisInsomnia

The goal of this clinical trialis to compare a digital Cognitive-behavioral intervention for insomnia to digital administered applied relaxation in participants with Multiple Sclerosis. The treatments will be compared in following outcomes: Sleep diary: total sleep time (TST), sleep onset latency (SOL), wake after sleep onset (WASO), and early morning awakening (EMA). Insomnia symptoms Depressive symptoms Client satisfaction Negative effects Worry Fatigue Quality of life MS symptoms/function

Feasibility of Remote Exercise Training for Hispanics/Latinos With MS

Multiple Sclerosis

The goal of this clinical trial is to investigate the potential benefits of a specially designed exercise program for Hispanics/Latinos with multiple sclerosis (MS). The main questions it aims to answer are: Can a 4-month remotely-delivered exercise training program improve physical function, symptom management, and quality of life in Hispanics/Latinos with MS? How do social determinants of health, such as income, education, access to healthcare, and social support, influence the feasibility and effectiveness of the exercise intervention? Participants in this study will engage in a 4-month remotely-delivered exercise training intervention that includes flexibility, or aerobic and resistance exercise training sessions. They will work with experienced coaches who will guide and support them throughout the program. The researchers will compare the participants who receive the exercise intervention with a control group to see if the exercise program leads to significant improvements in physical function, fatigue, mood, and overall well-being for Hispanics/Latinos with MS. The study aims to empower this underserved population and provide insights for future healthcare and research initiatives.

Complementary and Alternative Care in Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple Sclerosis

This is a prospective, observational study designed to describe disease progression, symptom change, quality of life, diet and lifestyle habits, and frequency of adverse events among patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) who use complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). In addition to describing the patterns of CAM use, this study will also identify and describe the positive deviants, those individuals with the highest quality of life and least amount of disease activity. Positive deviants will be compared to controls in order to describe medication, diet, and lifestyle patterns associated with a lack of MS disease progression and high quality of life.

Clinical Applications of Advanced Ophthalmic Imaging

Multiple SclerosisDry Eye Syndromes4 more

The purpose of this study is to determine the clinical application of advanced ophthalmic imaging devices such as optical coherence tomography (OCT), retinal function imager (RFI), slit-lamp biomicroscopy (SLB), PERG in diseased eyes and normal controls. There are two phases in this study. The first phase is an observational phase which studies the eye in various conditions. The second phase is an interventional phase which studies the changes in the eyes after taking an over-the-counter medical food (Ocufolin) for 6 months.

IL-11 in the Development of Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple Sclerosis

Since the last submission, the investigator have further characterized the potential of IL--11 to induce encephalitogenic CD4+IL--17A+, IL--21+ and GM--CSF+ cells, which upon passive transfer induced severe RREAE with IL--17A+CCR6+ CD4+ cell, neutrophil, CD8+ and B--cell accumulation within the CNS (manuscript submitted for publication). These findings confirmed our hypothesis and further characterization of the IL--11--induced encephalitogenic CD4+ cells will be performed as planned in the grant proposal
