Orthopaedic Treatment in Propulsive Metatarsalgia
MetatarsalgiaTreatment5 moreThe goal of this clinical trial is to compare the effectiveness of two conservative orthopedic treatments in propulsive metatarsalgia. The main question it aims to answer are: To compare the effectiveness of treatments on foot pain and functionality in subjects diagnosed with propulsive metatarsalgia. To determinate the influence of clinical and radiographical characteristics in pain improvement. Participants will wear the treatment for 3 months . Researchers will compare polypropylene and EVA insoles and Fixtoe Device® to see if a foot pain improvement is achieved.
Testing of Mobile Monitoring System
Orthopedic DisorderWe will complete a prospective, observational study comparing the accuracy of the mobile monitoring tool on identifying SSI compared to manual review.
Efficacy of a Single Preoperative Administration of Action Observation Therapy Associated With Motor...
Hip OsteoarthritisOrthopedic DisorderAction Observation Therapy (AOT) and Motor Imagery (MI) are two rehabilitation approaches based on Mirror Neuron System (MNS). The MNS refers to a series of neurons able to activate both when one observes an action being performed or when one physically performs the action themselves. Previous studies reported that functional recovery is facilitated by asking patient observing videos with motor content (AOT) and after imagining (MI) the gestures observed. These rehabilitative apporach have been used in particular to promote functional recovery in patients with neuromotor problems, in particular in patients with stroke. To date, few studies have investigated the effectiveness of this therapeutic approach in functional recovery after orthopedic surgery and none of these applied AOT and MI in a single pre-operative session. The objective of the study is to verify whether a single administration consisting of two pre-operative sessions of AOT associated with MI can lead to an improvement of functional recovery in hip arthroplasty patients.
Phase 3 Study of Ataluren in Participants With Nonsense Mutation Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (nmDMD)...
Muscular DystrophyDuchenne11 moreDystrophinopathy is a disease continuum that includes Duchenne muscular dystrophy, which develops in boys. It is caused by a mutation in the gene for dystrophin, a protein that is important for maintaining normal muscle structure and function. Loss of dystrophin causes muscle fragility that leads to weakness and loss of walking ability. A specific type of mutation, called a nonsense (premature stop codon) mutation is the cause of dystrophinopathy in approximately 10-15 percent (%) of boys with the disease. Ataluren is an orally delivered, investigational drug that has the potential to overcome the effects of the nonsense mutation. The main goal of this Phase 3 study is to evaluate the effect of ataluren on walking ability. The effect of ataluren on physical function, quality of life, and activities of daily living will be evaluated. This study will also provide additional information on the long-term safety of ataluren.
Effects of Power Mobility on Young Children With Severe Motor Impairments
Cerebral PalsyArthrogryposis2 moreThe purpose this study is to determine the effects of power mobility on the development and function of young children of young children whose severe physical disabilities limit their exploratory behaviors and may unnecessarily restrict their cognitive, communication, and social-emotional development.
Efficacy of Interferential Laser Therapy in Shoulder Pain
Shoulder Musculoskeletal DisordersThe purpose of this study is to determine the advantages of the interferential laser therapy in shoulder pain reduction compared with the conventional low level laser therapy modality.
Biomechanics of Gait Pattern Adaptation in Patients After Total Knee Arthroplasty
Knee ArthroplastyKnee Arthritis Osteoarthritis4 moreThis study aimed to discover the biomechanics of gait pattern adaptation in patients after a total knee replacement. The first hypothesis of the project was that center-of-pressure manipulation at the foot during dynamic loading is capable of changing the forces, torques and muscle activation patterns of the lower limb. The second hypothesis of the project was that patient-specific center-of-pressure manipulation at the foot combined with repetitive perturbation training over time will improve neuromuscular function, barefoot gait patterns, muscle activation patterns, pain, quality of life and energy consumption in patients after a total knee replacement.
The Effect of a Structured Personalised Ergonomic Intervention for Hospital Nurses With Musculoskeletal...
Musculoskeletal DiseasesThe purpose of this study is to examine the effect of a structured personalised ergonomic intervention program for hospital nurses with musculoskeletal complains.
The BRIDGE Rehabilitation Trial
Musculoskeletal DiseaseThe main aim of this multi-centre stepped wedge randomized controlled trial is to improve the quality, professional practice and cost-effective utilization of health care resources by evaluating if a new rehabilitation program aimed at bridging gaps in rehabilitation across levels of care may increase and/or prolong the effect of rehabilitation.

Musculoskeletal Disorder of the NeckThe aim of the study is to determine the effect of exercise and two different manual therapy methods on pain, quality of life and posture in people with neck pain.
