LymphomaMultiple Myeloma and Plasma Cell NeoplasmRATIONALE: Biological therapies, such as a dendritic cell vaccine made with a patient's cancer cells, may stimulate the immune system in different ways and stop cancer cells from growing. PURPOSE: This phase I/II trial is studying the side effects of dendritic cell vaccine and to see how well it works in treating patients with indolent B-cell lymphoma or multiple myeloma.

Multiple MyelomaRATIONALE: Bortezomib may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Thalidomide may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking blood flow to the cancer. Giving bortezomib together with thalidomide may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving bortezomib together with thalidomide works in treating patients with newly diagnosed stage II or stage III multiple myeloma.
Donor Stem Cell Transplant in Treating Older or Frail Patients With Hematologic Cancer
Chronic Myeloproliferative DisordersLeukemia3 moreRATIONALE: Giving low doses of chemotherapy, such as fludarabine and busulfan, before a donor bone marrow or peripheral blood stem cell transplant helps stop the growth of cancer cells. It also stops the patient's immune system from rejecting the donor's stem cells. The donated stem cells may replace the patient's immune system and help destroy any remaining cancer cells (graft-versus-tumor effect). Giving an infusion of the donor's T cells (donor lymphocyte infusion) after the transplant may help increase this effect. Sometimes the transplanted cells from a donor can also make an immune response against the body's normal cells. Giving antithymocyte globulin before transplant and methotrexate and tacrolimus after the transplant may stop this from happening. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects of donor stem cell transplant in treating older or frail patients with hematologic cancer.

LymphomaNon-Hodgkin1 moreThis study evaluates the safety and efficacy of plerixafor given in addition to granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) for collection of peripheral blood stem cells (PBSCs) for autologous transplantation in patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) and multiple myeloma (MM). Efficacy outcomes include evaluation of fold increase in circulating CD34+ cells from just before the first plerixafor injection to 10-11 hours post plerixafor (just before apheresis) and assessment of successful polymorphonuclear leukocyte (PMN) engraftment after transplantation. Data from this protocol will assist in the determination of the dosing schedule for future studies.

One other pre-specified outcome is to evaluate an interval of 10-11 hours between dosing with plerixafor and the beginning of apheresis to determine if there will be at least a 2-fold increase in circulating CD34+ cells. Data from this protocol will assist in the determination of the dosing schedule for future studies.
Antithymocyte Globulin and Sirolimus in Treating Patients With Relapsed Multiple Myeloma
Drug/Agent Toxicity by Tissue/OrganMultiple Myeloma and Plasma Cell NeoplasmRATIONALE: Biological therapies, such as antithymocyte globulin may stimulate the immune system in different ways and stop cancer cells from growing. Sirolimus may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. It may also prevent or reduce the side effects of antithymocyte globulin. Giving antithymocyte globulin together with sirolimus may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of antithymocyte globulin when given together with sirolimus in treating patients with relapsed multiple myeloma.
