Early Detection of Multiple Myeloma to Fight Cancer Disparities: A Screening and Patient Navigation...

Multiple MyelomaMonoclonal Gammopathy of Undetermined Significance1 more

This project will pilot the expansion of the existing Taussig Outreach Program's community outreach and patient navigation model to study the multiple myeloma (MM) screening program. This involves analyzing community reception, screening program methods, reasons patients decided to participate, reasons patients declined participation, and participant views and attitudes. This study also aims to gauge the current and general understanding of MM. This study seeks to recruit participants in the pilot screening program to promote early detection. Participants who have abnormal results will receive patient navigation for further diagnostics and testing.

Value of Chemokine Receptor CXCR4 Imaging for Diagnosis and Prognostic Evaluation in Lymphoproliferative...

LymphomaMultiple Myeloma1 more

Chemokine receptor CXCR4 is normally expressed on T-lymphocytes, B-lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, neutrophils and eosinophils as well as hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPC) in the bone marrow. 68Ga-Pentixafor PET/CT represents a promising method for the in vivo assessment of the CXCR4 expression status in cancer patients, especially in hematologic malignancies. This prospective study is going to investigate whether metabolic characterization by 68Ga-Pentixafor PET/CT may be superior for diagnosis, risk stratification, and the prognostic evaluation in lymphoproliferative diseases.

Multiple Myeloma

The aim of our study is to confirm the relevance of PET using [68Ga]Ga -PentixaFor ligand, in comparison with FDG, for initial staging and therapeutic evaluation of symptomatic multiple myeloma patients in first line treatment. The prognostic value of positive CXCR4 expression will also be assessed and [68Ga]Ga -PentixaFor/FDG discordances explored.

In-Human CXCR4 Imaging of Blood Cancers Using [68Ga]-Pentixafor-PET

Non-Hodgkin LymphomaMultiple Myeloma3 more

The purpose of this study is to determine the uptake of the imaging agent [68Ga]-pentixafor with PET/CT scans in people with monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS), smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM), and non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), or you have histiocytic neoplasms (Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH), Erdheim-Chester disease (ECD) and/or Rosai-Dorfman disease (RDD).

Stem Cell Transplantation for Patients With Multiple Myeloma

Myeloma

The purpose of this study is to test whether regulatory T-cell reduction is possible and safe in myeloma subjects undergoing autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT).

Siltuximab to Decrease Symptom Burden After Autologous Stem Cell Transplantation for Patients With...

Multiple MyelomaAL Amyloidosis

Autologous stem cell transplant is beneficial to patients who are diagnosed with multiple myeloma or systemic amyloidosis. However, undesired symptoms such as weakness, fatigue, nausea, pain and sleep disturbance after transplant can contribute to complications and increase the how long the patient is in the hospital, especially in patients age 60-75. Research has shown that the development and the intensity of these symptoms are closely associated with an increase in a protein called a cytokine which is involved in the inflammatory response in the human body. One of the cytokines is called Interleukin-6 or IL-6.Therefore, this study will investigate if blocking IL-6 with an agent called siltuximab, administered before and after transplant, will decrease the symptom burden after transplant to improve quality of life and recovery in the immediate post-transplant period.

Effects of Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO) on Blood Count Recovery After Autologous Hematopoietic Stem Cell...

Myeloma

Patients with Multiple Myeloma who are considered for high-dose therapy and autologous transplantation at the bone marrow transplant clinic at the Wilmot Cancer Institute (WCI) will be be approached to participate in this trial. Eligible patients who choose to participate will be randomized so that half receive one hyperbaric oxygen therapy session prior to hematopoetic stem cell infusion and half will not. All subjects will have their blood counts monitored closely and time to count recovery will be compared between the two groups.

UARK 2013-13, Total Therapy 4B - Formerly 2008-01 - A Phase III Trial for Low Risk Myeloma

Multiple Myeloma

Toward improving the therapeutic index of standard TT3 (S-TT3), the investigators will employ a randomized Phase III trial design to determine whether S-TT3 treatment-related toxicities can be reduced by 50% in TT3-Lite (L-TT3). Note: Randomization has been discontinued and accrual is closed to the L-TT3 arm. This trial is currently enrolling as a single-arm trial for patients to receive S-TT3.

UARK 2006-66, Total Therapy 3B: An Extension of UARK 2003-33 Total Therapy

Multiple Myeloma

With this study - Total Therapy IIIB - researchers are extending the findings of Total Therapy III based what they have learned from the first two studies (Total Therapy I and II), with new research strategies designed to explore why chromosome abnormalities found in persons with multiple myeloma affect the outcome of drug therapy used in this disease."
