National Longitudinal Cohort of Hematological Diseases

Background Hematological diseases are disorders of the blood and hematopoietic organs. The current hematological cohorts are mostly based on single-center or multi-center cases, or cohorts with limited sample size in China. There is a lack of comprehensive and large-scale prospective cohort studies in hematology. The purpose of this study is to analyze the incidence and risk factors of major blood diseases, the treatment methods, prognosis and medical expenses of these patients in China. Method The study will include patients diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, multiple myeloma, hemophilia, aplastic anemia, leukemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, lymphoma, bleeding disorders or received bone marrow transplantation in the investigating hospitals from January 1, 2020, and collect basic information, diagnostic and treatment information, as well as medical expense information from medical records. In its current form, the NICHE registry incorporates historical data (collected from 2000) and is systematically collecting prospective data in two phases with broadening reach. The study will use questionnaire to measure the exposure of patients, and prospectively follow-up to collect the prognosis information.

Collecting quality of life information from patients may help doctors learn more about the most common symptoms and concerns patients with monoclonal gammopathy of unknown significance and smoldering multiple myeloma may have.

It is an observational, case-control study aimed at early-detection of multiple myeloma and constructing a prognostic model of multiple myeloma. The study will enroll approximately 398 participants including patients with multiple myeloma, patients with benign hematologic disorders and healthy participants.

A Cohort Study of Plasma Cell Disorders (PCDs) in PKUFH

The primary aim is to establish a prospective cohort of patients with plasma cell disorders (PCDs). All of the hospitalized PCD patients who are willing to sign the informed consent form (ICF) will be included in this study. Clinical characteristics, treatment options and responses will be collected. Peripheral blood, bone marrow aspirate and urine samples before and after the treatment will banked for future research. Our team will focus on the clinical and pathological features of PCDs, the correlation between the minimal residual disease (MRD) status and prognosis, and the role of Tumor Microenvironment (TME) in the pathogenesis and progress of PCDs.

The purpose of this study is to better understand the genetic causes of Hodgkin's disease (a kind of lymphoma) and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, as well as multiple myeloma, leukemia, and related diseases. The doctors have identified the patient because 1) they have had a lymphoproliferative disorder such as lymphoma, leukemia, or multiple myeloma, and have a family member with one of these disorders or 2) they are a member of a family with a lymphoproliferative disorder, including Hodgkin's disease and/or, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma or a second cancer after Hodgkin's disease.

Mass Accumulation Rate (MAR) as a Predictive Biomarker in Multiple Myeloma

This study will collect bone marrow (BM) aspirate samples from patients with relapsed refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM) prior to the start of a new treatment regimen for the purposes of prospectively measuring single-cell mass accumulation rate (MAR) as a biomarker of patient response to that regimen. The primary study objective is to explore whether the single-cell MAR biomarker can predict patient response in RRMM patients. In order to enable this primary objective, two patient cohorts will be required. First, a small vanguard cohort of patients with treatment naïve disease to define drug concentrations used for testing, and second, the main RRMM patient cohort. Data will be collected to estimate the biomarker's predictive properties (accuracy, sensitivity, specificity), and to support improvement of the MAR biomarker through additional research and discovery within the study dataset.

The primary purpose of this protocol is to create a registry of patients with plasma cell disorders (PCDs), including for example the cancer multiple myeloma (MM), who complete the assessment, previously known as a "geriatric assessment," as is outlined in this protocol. Secondary objectives include measuring the response rate to participation of patients in this study, assessing patient satisfaction with the questionnaire, and gathering information that would lend support for future research into these types of assessments in patients with PCDs. Additionally the study offers an optional blood draw to look at a genetic marker of aging called p16INK4a (IRB 15-1899, IRB 15-0244).

The goal of this study is to create a data set to add to Carevive's registry from real world clinical and patient reported data collected using an electronic care planning system (CPS) with remote symptom monitoring that is used in routine care for cancer patients on active treatment. Patients will complete a baseline survey in person using a secured device or remotely using their own electronic device in a location of their choice. Weekly electronic patient reported outcome (PRO) surveys are collected from the patients using the Carevive platform for a minimum of 12 weeks. Patients may continue weekly surveys as long as they are receiving treatment.

This study evaluates the risks and experience of blood clots and bleeding in patients with blood cancers. While it is standard of care to use medications to reduce the risk of blood clots in hospitalized individuals, some patients with blood cancers have low platelet counts that can increase the concern for bleeding complications associated with these medications. At this time, the optimal management strategies for blood clots are not well known for patients with blood cancers. This pilot study evaluates additional information that could help doctors know which patients are at highest risk for blood clots.
