Auto-PAP for Pulmonary Hypertension Treatment in Decompensated HF Patients With Sleep Apnea.
Sleep ApneaObstructive3 moreThe objective of the study is to evaluate the effect of continuous positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy on pulmonary arterial (PA) pressures in acute decompensated heart failure (HF) patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The study will also assess changes in functional parameters, biomarkers, and echocardiographic parameters.
The Effects of Sacubitril/Valsartan on Cardiac Oxygen Consumption and Efficiency of Cardiac Work...
Heart FailureThe study will assess the effects of 6 weeks of stable sacubitril/valsartan therapy, as compared with valsartan therapy, on cardiac oxygen consumption and the efficiency of cardiac work in patients with NYHA II-III heart failure (HF) and reduced systolic function using 11C-acetate positron emission tomography (PET) and echocardiography.
QP ExCELs: MultiPole Pacing (MPP) Sub-Study
Heart FailureThe objective of this MultiPole Pacing (MPP) sub-study of the QP ExCELs study is to demonstrate that the MPP feature is effective by converting a percentage of cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) non-responders to responders. The MPP sub-study is a single-arm, multi-center, prospective trial within the ongoing QP ExCELs study (NCT02290028).
Autonomic Regulation Therapy in Heart Failure With Preserved Ejection Fraction
Congestive Heart FailureThe ANTHEM-HFpEF Study is designed to demonstrate the safety and efficacy of vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) with the Cyberonics VNS Therapy System for the treatment of subjects with symptomatic heart failure with preserved and mid-range ejection fraction.
Pilot Study for First Clinical Use of sc2Wear Furosemide Combination Product
Heart FailureThe proposed pilot study aims to gain experience with the first clinical use of the to-be marketed drug-device combination product, the sc2Wear Furosemide Combination Product and to assess methods and procedures for evaluation of product performance. The objectives of this study are: To gain first in man experience of a novel drug-device combination product To evaluate the suitability of the methods and procedures for evaluating of the performance of the sc2Wear Pump
A Study to Evaluate the Effects of 4 Weeks Treatment With Subcutaneous Elamipretide on Left Ventricular...
Chronic Heart FailureThis is a multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study in subjects with stable heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) to evaluate the effects of 4 weeks treatment with subcutaneous MTP-131 (elampretide) on left ventricular function.
Cardiac Rehabilitation and Noninvasive Ventilation in Heart Failure
Heart FailureThe study aims to demonstrate the efficacy of NIV continuously in cardiac rehabilitation programs, improvement of exercise tolerance, with consequent reflection in functional capacity and quality of life of this population.
EntrestoTM (LCZ696) In Advanced Heart Failure (LIFE Study)
Heart FailureThe primary objective of the study is to determine whether, in patients with symptomatic, advanced heart failure due to left ventricular systolic dysfunction, treatment with LCZ696 for 24 weeks will improve Pro-B-type Natriuretic Peptide (NT-proBNP) levels, which reflect hemodynamic and clinical status, compared to treatment with valsartan.
Analysing the Effect of Empagliflozin on Reduction of Tissue Sodium Content in Patients With Chronic...
Chronic Heart FailureThe hypothesis is that the SGLT-2 inhibitor empagliflozin reduces tissue sodium content in patients with chronic heart failure, and if the hypothesis is proven, that this mechanism contributes to the beneficial effects found in EMPA-REG Outcome trial potentially via exerting beneficial effects on the vascular structure and function of the micro- and macrocirculation.
Cardiac Uptake of Metformin, Visualized by Positron Emission Tomography
Heart FailureSystolicThe purpose of the study is to evaluate if metformin is taken up into the failing myocardium. Recent experimental and epidemiological studies have shown beneficial effects of metformin on heart failure. It is unknown whether this effect is direct or indirect. The aim of the study is to investigate if metformin is taken up in heart failure using a novel 11C-metformin tracer and positron emission tomography (PET).
