Clinical Trial of Autologous Adipose Tissue Derived Stromal Cell Therapy for Ischemic Heart Failure...

Ischemic Heart Failure

Mesenchymal stem cells have capability to differentiate into myocardium, vascular endothelial cell, vascular smooth muscle cell and will be useful for heart regeneration. Adipose tissue is relatively enriched with mesenchymal stem cell compared to bone marrow tissue. In this trial, eligible ischemic heart failure patients will be proceeded intracoronary administration of autologous adipose tissue derived stromal cells by cardiac catheterization.

Investigator Initiated Randomized Open-label Comparative Study of Britomar (Prolonged Release Torasemide)...

Arterial HypertensionChronic Heart Failure

Study hypothesis is that the time from randomization to the increase of natriuresis (%), time to standardization of natriuresis daily profile, blood pressure profile and the percentage reduction of central hemodynamic parameters will be relatively changed over the study period by more than 15%.

Resveratrol: A Potential Anti- Remodeling Agent in Heart Failure, From Bench to Bedside

Dilated Cardiomyopathy

The purpose of this study is to determine if resveratrol can improve heart function and quality of life. Although, population studies have revealed that a mild to moderate intake of red wine reduces cardiovascular disease risk in humans, clinical studies that evaluate the potential heart benefits of resveratrol in patients with non-ischemic cardiomyopathy have not been previously reported. Accordingly, this research is being done because it will fill this deficiency in the information available in the literature and establish the clinical benefits of resveratrol in patients with this type of heart disease.

Apical Compression Stitch - a New Option for LV Remodelling

Heart FailureLeft Ventrikular Remodelling1 more

The current study analyses the LV geometry of failing LVs measured by MRI scanning with respect to systolic versus diastolic function. A new surgical method for remodelling enlarged left ventricles is introduced. An apical remodelling stitch led to significant remodelling which was accompanied by improvement in ventricular function.

Sensitivity of the InSync Sentry OptiVol Feature for the Prediction of Heart Failure

Heart FailureCongestive

The SENSE-HF study is a prospective, observational, international multi-center study prospectively evaluating the sensitivity and positive predictive value of the OptiVol Fluid Trends data in predicting Heart Failure related hospitalizations and health care utilizations associated with signs and/or symptoms of pulmonary congestion, and to define OptiVol clinical guidelines for subject therapy management.

Nicorandil Study to Reduce Cardiac Death After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) in Hemodialysis...

Acute Myocardial InfarctionCongestive Heart Failure

Survival after invasive coronary revascularization is worse in patients with chronic kidney disease than in those without it. The investigators aimed to examine whether oral administration of nicorandil, a hybrid of nitrate and adenosine triphosphate-sensitive potassium channel opener, could improve the survival of end-stage renal disease patients with coronary artery disease by inhibiting cardiac death after coronary revascularization.

Multidisciplinary Inpatient Palliative Care Intervention

Cerebrovascular AccidentCancer16 more

Palliative care is believed to improve care of patients with life-limiting illnesses. This study evaluated the impact of a multi-center randomized trial of a palliative care team intervention on the quality and cost of care of hospitalized patients. Study subjects were randomized to intervention or usual care. At study end, patients receiving the palliative care intervention reported greater patient satisfaction with their care. Intervention patients also had significantly fewer ICU admissions and lower total costs for care 6 months past their hospitalization. Intervention patients completed more advance directives and had longer hospice stays.

Avicena LVDP Validation Study

Heart Failure

The purpose of the study is to determine the relationship between non-invasive measurement of left ventricular diastolic pressure (LVDP) using the Vivio System, compared with invasively measured LVDP via direct measurement during left heart catheterization.

Comparative Study of Cardiac Adrenergic Function Explored by I-123-MIBG and CZT Camera (D-SPECT)...

Heart Failure

Cardiological examination constitute one of the major directions in nuclear medicine for detection of myocardial ischemia in patients suspected of coronary disease. In Caen, they constitute 20% of the activity of nuclear medicine. Systolic heart failure (HF) ischemic or nonischemic origin represents a new area of activity of the nuclear cardiology. This is HF stratification study based on cardiac adrenergic function after injection of a tracer: I-123-MIBG. The team Caen nuclear cardiology is one of two teams recognized internationally in the field of evaluating the cardiac sympathetic innervation in cardiomyopathies. Numerous publications from 1992 to the present day have reported encouraging results for the daily use of this tracer in the evaluation of patients with LV dysfunction IC. Recently, interest in using the MIBG has been shown as a prognostic marker of HF in a prospective study of 961 patients. Typically, the camera used was an Anger camera with collimating Nai standard called parallel holes. The main objective is to validate the measurements of cardiac adrenergic function evaluated by cardiopulmonary mediastinal reports and sympathetic innervation scores VG after injection of I-123-MIBG in 80 patients with heart failure.
