Body Composition Ultrasound for Patients With Heart Failure
Heart FailureThis study aims to determine whether skeletal muscle ultrasound is a useful technique for measuring low muscle mass in patients with heart failure (HF). Muscle wasting and abnormal muscle quality has been identified in patients with advanced HF and may contribute to patients' physical limitations. However assessments of body composition for patients with HF currently rely on the research tool of dual X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) for measurements of skeletal muscle mass, which is limited by cost, use of radiation, and the need for patients to be transported to the DXA scanner for imaging. Therefore this observational study is designed to validate a new approach that allows a safe and portable assessment of body composition.

BIO-2-HEART: Identification of Biomarkers in T2DM and Heart Failure
Heart FailureDiabetes Mellitus1 moreThe primary aim of the current study is a better understanding of the role of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) in heart failure and, in particular, changes in cardiac metabolism, which may contribute to heart failure. Various biomarkers in the coronary artery blood, as well as in the arterial and peripheral venous blood, are to be identified for this purpose. Included are patients with and without T2DM, who have a clinically indicated and guidance-appropriate Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy (CRT) implantation due to their cardiac insufficiency. Not all patients currently benefit from the implantation of a CRT system (so-called non-responder). Despite narrow inclusion criteria, these "non-responders" cannot be unmasked in advance of the implantation. A further aim of this study is to identify biomarkers, which can be determined in advance of implantation to differentiate between responders and non-responders.
Follow-up of the Cardiomyopathy Cohort SFB/TR19
CardiomyopathiesHeart FailureFollow-up of a cohort of inflammatory cardiomyopathy patients (suspected or validated inflammatory cardiomyopathy) recruited at baseline by the SFB-TR19 project. Standardized protocols will be used for the assessment of medical history and examinations, laboratory biomarkers, and the collection of various biomaterials for biobanking purposes.
Heart Failure and Aortic Stenosis Transcriptome
Heart FailureAortic StenosisThis study is aimed to investigate the global transcriptome in order to determine the expression profile of messenger RNAs (mRNAs), as well as long noncoding- (lncRNAs) and micro noncoding-RNAs (miRNAs) in heart failure (HF) and in aortic stenosis (AS). The aim is to clarify their role in cardiac disease pathogenesis, as well as their potential as biomarkers. To this purpose, both tissue and blood specimens will be collected and patients will be compared to individuals not affected by cardiovascular diseases.

Deformation Imaging by Strain in Chronic Heart Failure Over Gliflozins: an Echocardiographic Register...
Sodium-GLucose coTransporter-2 InhibitorsHeart Failure With Reduced Ejection FractionIt is an observational, cohort, prospective, multicentre, Italian, non-profit study, with the aim of evaluating the modification of conventional and advanced echocardiographic parameters, focusing on speckle tracking and three-dimensional echocardiography (optional), in patients with HFrEF after treatment with SGLT2i Dapagliflozin and Empagliflozin. Participation in the study will last for approximately 18 months, and a total of 300 patients will be enrolled at the various Research Centers. The enrolled patients will undergo a first evaluation in which the anamnestic, clinical and conventional and advanced echocardiographic data will be recorded. At this point, the patient will start SGLT2i. After starting SGLT2i, a second evaluation will be carried out with a cardiological visit at 6 months, in which the same data listed above will then be recorded. At the end of the evaluation, the clinical follow-up will be continued for the duration of 1 year, in number and frequency according to clinical indication.

Heart Failure and Sleep Disordered Breathing
Heart FailureThe purpose of this study is to analyze and summarize the characteristics of arrhythmia and heart rate variability of Chinese patients with three different types of heart failure combined with sleep disordered breathing based on the clinical data, to provide new diagnosis and treatment ideas for domestic patients, and then to improve the prognosis of patients betterly.
